Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and Baskin-Robbins Love Potion No. 31 is back. The chain has some of the best ice cream in America, so it’s no wonder they go above and beyond for the holidays. Though I’m a certified ice cream expert who believes all ice creams (yes, even the weird ones) are romantic, I do not have a lab of ice cream experts to conduct the scientific trials necessary to prove this. For a whopping 30 years, those ice cream experts have agreed that the best way to celebrate your love in February is with a scoop of Love Potion No. 31. Here’s why this flavor is equally as romantic as champagne, chocolates and heart-shaped foods.
What is Love Potion No. 31?
Introduced in 1995, Love Potion No. 31 is a flavor Baskin-Robbins devotees patiently wait for all year round. Like any perfect couple, this concoction brings two flavors that were made for each other into perfect harmony, swirling together creamy white chocolate and tangy raspberry ice creams into wedded bliss.
That’s already a lot to love no matter what the season, but when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day, “love” needs to be extra extra. That’s why, in addition to chocolate chips for tasty texture and ribbons of real raspberry puree to take the flavor over the top, Love Potion No. 31 has tiny raspberry-filled chocolate-flavored hearts, just like the ones you might find in a heart-shaped box of chocolates.
Sharing a pint or two of Love Potion No. 31 while cuddling under a warm blanket is a lovely, lazy way to celebrate with someone special.
