We might not have a personal chef to cook for us every week, but the good news is that Clooney's go-to meal is super easy to make.

George Clooney’s Favorite Meal Is an Italian Classic

Stars, they’re just like us! Well, maybe not quite like us. George and Amal Clooney, along with their twins, split time between various European residences. Their most famous home is a beautiful villa on Italy’s Lake Como. And there is exactly one dinner tradition that is nonnegotiable when the Clooneys are in Italy: their weekly pizza night! One specific pizza recipe, whipped up by their personal chef, is the family’s favorite meal.
What is George Clooney’s favorite meal?
George and Amal Clooney’s personal chef, Viviana Frizzi, is a Lake Como native and cooks delicious Italian meals for the family. Clooney has noted that Frizzi is an absolute whiz at making fresh pastas and apparently makes a gnocchi with pesto sauce that is so good it will, “make you cry.”
But it’s another Italian staple that is Clooney’s go-to dinner. Frizzi has a weekly pizza night for the family, and margherita pizza with an arugula salad is apparently the one they can’t get enough of. Sounds heavenly!
How do you make a margherita pizza?
A margherita pizza is as classic a pizza dish as you can get. It’s relatively simple and really lets all of the individual ingredients shine. You start with a basic hand-stretched pizza dough, then add fresh hand-crushed tomatoes in place of a traditional pizza sauce. On top of that, you layer fresh mozzarella, cut into smaller pieces arranged in a neat layer.
The final ingredient—fresh basil leaves—is actually added after the pizza comes out of the oven. You can tear the basil leaves or cut them into ribbons to unleash their fragrant scent. Drizzle with a little olive oil and add freshly cracked black pepper. To round out your meal just like the Hollywood star, serve the ‘za with one of these arugula salads. Pairs well with: an Italian wine and one of Clooney’s many movies!
