It was smart thinking to stock up on all that wrapping paper when it was on sale at the end of last season—until you realized those long, slender tubes are rather hard to store neatly. Now, you’re tired of them falling over every time you open the closet door. Or worse, you can’t even remember what you did with your existing gift wrap from last year. No worries—we’ve got you covered. We tested a wrapping paper organizer and can confirm it’s the Christmas miracle you’ve been waiting for.

What is a wrapping paper organizer?

A gift wrap organizer keeps all your wrapping gear ready for when you’ve got mountains of presents to wrap. (Psst! Here’s how to wrap like a pro.) It keeps rolls, ribbons, bags and tags as crisp and neat as the day you bought them to ensure a flawlessly wrapped gift.

The dimensions are 40 inches long by 14 inches wide by 6 inches deep, so there’s plenty of room on the inside for extra-long gift wrap rolls. It fits between 18 and 24 standard rolls, depending on thickness. Don’t have that many to store? You can always place boxes and gift bags flat underneath the rolls instead.

If you’ve got shorter rolls of gift wrap to store, use the Velcro-attached divider to designate areas for tissue paper, bows or small accessories like tape and scissors (or our personal favorite, the Little Elf wrap cutter). But if you went ahead and snagged those extra-long rolls of paper, don’t fret—there are also two clear pockets on the top to hold any other small items you need for your marathon gift-wrapping sessions.

When you’re done stowing your gift-wrapping supplies, zip the whole thing closed like a suitcase. It even has a handle for easy toting to and from your designated wrapping spot.

This wrapping paper organizer comes in black or gray. But you won’t have to worry about aesthetics since it conveniently stows away in a closet or under the bed until next year.

Wrapping Paper Organizer

Keep all your gift wrapping supplies in one place with this handy organizer. It fits wrapping paper, ribbons, gift tags and much more.

How We Tested a Wrapping Paper Organizer

To see if this savvy storage lives up to the hype, we ordered one from Amazon. It arrived in a standard plastic shipping envelope. The setup was incredibly simple. All I had to do was remove the organizer from the plastic sleeve, unfold each piece and lay the large base into the bottom. There’s also an optional divider piece that neatly attaches with hook and loop tape.

Next, it was time to fill ‘er up! I raided the closet where I store gift supplies and pulled out all the loose, haphazardly placed rolls of wrapping paper, ribbons, tissue paper stacks and gift tags. I laid everything out on the floor and started organizing.

The rolls went in seamlessly. Since I only had a few, I used the attached straps to secure them so they wouldn’t move in storage. Five rolls fit across, and there was still room to spare. Depending on the size of your rolls, you could easily fit several layers in here. (I’ll have to stock up after the holidays!) I love that this organizer fits collections big and small.

Next, I folded my tissue paper and placed it in the divider pocket. I also added two spools of ribbon. I used the interior pockets to stash loose bows and gift tags, and I plan to add scissors and a roll of tape. There’s a clear pocket for labeling on the front that’s particularly handy if you have different wrapping supplies for each occasion. In just a few minutes, I transformed my gift supply storage from disorganized chaos into neat and orderly.

This organizer is surprisingly high quality. The sturdy fabric, double zippers and reinforced handles will last for many seasons. I stashed mine in a closet, but it can also fit under a high-profile bed. Now all that’s left is to wait for the holidays so I can put my creative gift wrapping ideas into practice!
