Few things are more important to me than coffee. I started drinking coffee in high school and have never looked back. Over the years, my tastes and preferences have varied. I’ll spend six months taking my coffee black, then decide I want to make fancy lattes with homemade cold foam and flavored syrups.

One thing that I’ve always been a little frustrated by, though, is the quality of ready-to-drink coffee beverages. Usually they’re too sweet or too bitter. I think that a lot of canned coffee drinks are fine, but I’ve never tried one that impressed me. That is, until I sampled the Jolene White oat milk latte.

What is Jolene coffee?

I think it’s important to note that no one is more skeptical of both canned coffees and celebrity brands than I am. I will try any celebrity product out of sheer curiosity, but they often leave me confused. So when I heard that Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis had entered the beverage market, my initial thought was … Huh.

Anthony Kiedis and his buddy, actor Shane Powers, decided to launch their own coffee brand as a way to honor the weekly coffee dates they had been keeping with each other for more than 20 years. And, thus, Jolene was born. There are exactly two products available: Jolene Black (a black cold brew) and Jolene White (an oat milk latte).

I am currently in the oat milk latte era of my coffee consumption, so I was most interested in giving the Jolene White a try. And much to my delight, it exceeded expectations.

What does Jolene coffee taste like?

The Jolene White was delicious and refreshing. It tasted exactly like an iced oat milk latte. There was a strong coffee flavor paired with the slightly nutty oat milk and a tiny hint of sweetness. After my first sip, I waited for the weird canned coffee aftertaste to hit. You know the one: metallic or chalky or otherwise very weird and artificial. But I got none of that with Jolene! I was immediately impressed.

As I kept sipping, I was in disbelief at how good it tasted. I’ve choked down my share of subpar canned coffees over the years just because I needed an easy caffeine boost. This was not the case, and I am so happy to have finally found a product that mimics the flavors of a freshly brewed iced latte.

I love that Jolene comes in an 8-ounce can, because anything more just feels like too much coffee. If you’re in the market for a reliably good afternoon pick-me-up that doesn’t sacrifice on quality, then Jolene should be on your radar. It’s great straight out of the can, over ice or with your favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers song.

Kathryn Hahn Says This Recipe Is Her Mom’s “Secret Weapon” https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/kathryn-hahn-favorite-snack/ Sun, 15 Jun 2025 15:00:17 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2149519 We love a good-old fashioned family recipe!

The post Kathryn Hahn Says This Recipe Is Her Mom’s “Secret Weapon” appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Most of you probably know Kathryn Hahn from her dazzling turn as Agatha Harkness in Marvel’s Agatha All Along. Some of you will recognize her from her comedic roles in The Studio, Parks and Recreation or Step Brothers. And an elite few will remember that she played one of Kate Hudson’s co-workers (and later, a fake therapist) in the classic rom-com How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Regardless of where you first saw her, chances are that you were completely charmed by her. Ever since the popularity of Agatha All Along, she’s started to go viral on TikTok. Gen Z has claimed her as “mother,” which is slang for being so cool that you’ve become a little awe-inspiring. Kathryn herself plays into this, calling herself “mommy” on the red carpet in a Buzzfeed interview.

Since both the Internet and I are gobbling up every piece of info we can about Kathryn Hahn, I wanted to share one particular tasty tidbit. During a video for Mythical Kitchen, she revealed what her last meal ever would be—and it’s one of her mom’s recipes.

What is Kathryn Hahn’s favorite snack?

Two words: Bunker special. Does that mean anything to you? I’d wager that it does not. But for Kathryn Hahn, it means everything.

“This has gone through a lot of generations,” she says of the recipe. “It was never a dessert. It was always just an after-school snack.” The snack consists of three ingredients: white bread, peanut butter and brown sugar. The name “Bunker special” comes from Kathryn’s mother, whose maiden name is Bunker.

Although it might seem unassuming, the key to the snack is how you prepare it. You slather the white bread with peanut butter, then sprinkle it with brown sugar before putting it under the broiler for a few minutes. The brown sugar melts and caramelizes, which makes it crunchy. It sounds absolutely perfect, and Kathryn aptly calls it a “secret weapon” of deliciousness.

So next time you want to have a little post-work, pre-dinner snack, you should give this a try. I know that I will be adding it to my snacking rotation!

Timothée Chalamet’s Favorite Cocktail Is Not an Espresso Martini https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/timothee-chalamet-favorite-cocktail/ Fri, 13 Jun 2025 18:28:48 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2154174 No, it's not an espresso martini.

The post Timothée Chalamet’s Favorite Cocktail Is Not an Espresso Martini appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
If you’ve always wanted to host a little Timothée Chalamet appreciation party, it’s getting easier and easier to plan the menu. We know that he’s a big fan of the Trader Joe’s Tarte d’Alsace, and now we have confirmation of his favorite cocktail. It’s honestly not what I expected—mostly because I remember those photos of him enjoying espresso martinis with Larry David making the rounds on social media.

Turns out Timothée is a little less into the sophisticated allure of an espresso martini. When it comes to kicking back and relaxing with a beverage, he prefers his drinks on the simpler side. In fact, I bet you could probably whip one up right now.

What is Timothée Chalamet’s favorite cocktail?

In an interview with Brittany Broski, Thimothée says that he loves a rum and Coke! Specifically, he loves a Captain Morgan and Coke. The whole interview is a delight, and it’s worth a watch if you’re a fan of either Timothée or Brittany.

What’s interesting about this revelation, though, is that Timothée admits to not really being a big drinker. He didn’t spend a lot of his time in college partying. “I was obsessed with acting,” he says. “I know it sounds lame, but I’m a theater kid through and through, so that was my pursuit.” In my personal experience, being a theater kid does not negate getting drunk, but c’est la vie!

I guess it makes sense, then, that Timothée has such a simple favorite when it comes to cocktails. And listen, there’s nothing wrong with a rum and Coke! Mixed drinks are classics for a reason: They’re simple and reliable. There’s not a lot to get wrong when you’re mixing together just two or three ingredients plus a garnish.

Now that Timothée is getting older, I do think he could find some cocktails to add to his repertoire. My personal favorite cocktail is a French 75, which would be a nice pairing with his Tarte d’Alsace. But if he wants to stick to the rum route, maybe he could switch things up with a Cuba Libre or a Dark and Stormy.

Doechii’s Favorite Snack Is Really Specific—Have You Ever Tried It? https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/doechiis-favorite-snack/ Fri, 13 Jun 2025 18:19:47 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2145407 The Grammy-winning rapper takes snack time seriously.

Doechii is currently taking the world by storm. Her album Alligator Bites Never Heal won Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammy Awards. She’s only the third woman in Grammy’s history to take home the prize, after Lauryn Hill in 1997 and Cardi B in 2019. Her Tiny Desk Concert at NPR Studios is one of the best from the series, and I constantly turn it on for some background noise and then end up watching the whole thing.

The 26-year-old rapper is from Tampa, Florida, and her “swamp princess” moniker is central to her aesthetic. When she isn’t recording viral hits like “Anxiety” she is taking her snack time very seriously. She doesn’t reach for alligator bites—even though they sound delicious. Instead, she likes her food to be of the bright pink and pickled variety.

What is Doechii’s favorite snack?

In an interview on YouTube, she’s asked what her favorite snack is. “Pickled eggs,” she says. “They’re so good.” And she wouldn’t just eat the pickled eggs by themselves; she would actually mix them with hot sausage for a kind of DIY-bodega egg salad. “I think it’s a Florida thing,” she tells the interviewer.

I’m not from Florida, and I have never heard of this combination, so I think it’s safe to say it is a very regional invention! Maybe it’s so regional that it’s specific to Tampa, or perhaps…Doechii’s house. I think it probably tastes amazing!

Pickled eggs are a classic bar snack, and they get their bright pink color from the beets they pickle with. It’s a recipe that has roots in Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine, which is a twist on German-style pickled eggs. Pickled snacks of all kinds are certainly having a moment in the sun right now, and there is no shortage of celebrities, from Selena Gomez to Dua Lipa and now Doechii declaring their love for the briny, salty snack.

Lady Gaga’s Favorite Lunch Is a Classic New York Sandwich https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/lady-gaga-favorite-lunch/ Fri, 13 Jun 2025 15:37:18 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2154232 If it's good enough for Gaga, it's good enough for me!

The post Lady Gaga’s Favorite Lunch Is a Classic New York Sandwich appeared first on Taste Recipes.

Lady Gaga is one of the most iconic and prolific living celebrities, and she’s only been in the business for 15 years. I remember dancing to her very first single, “Just Dance,” in college in 2009. But you may also know her from the impeccable collaborative jazz albums she recorded with Tony Bennett.

Then, of course, who could forget her iconic performance in 2018’s A Star is Born opposite Bradley Cooper? Whenever I’m having a bad day, I simply watch this video of the two of them singing “Shallow” at the Oscars. It’s an instant pick-me-up!

Between her numerous smash-hit albums, her movie appearances and her sold-out tours, she’s a force to be reckoned with. And, as with all the greats, I’m endlessly curious about how they fuel themselves to keep going at such a high level. But now that I know what Lady Gaga’s favorite lunch is, I will never be the same.

What is Lady Gaga’s favorite lunch?

Anyone who appreciates the beauty of a sandwich is a winner in my eyes. I know Harrison Ford is partial to a good grilled cheese, and Tina Fey loves the offerings of the sandwich chain Jimmy John’s. So the fact that Lady Gaga is also in the sandwich lovers club is amazing news.

According to her private chef, Jumoké Jackson, there’s one specific sandwich that he made for Lady Gaga and her crew constantly while they were on tour. Lady Gaga fuels up with a classic bodega staple: the chopped cheese!

You’ll have to forgive me, because even as a sandwich-lover, I had never heard of this sandwich until now. I’m sorry! I will eat one ASAP as penance. The key components of a chopped cheese are simple: ground beef, onions and American cheese. And you can’t forget a fresh hoagie roll for the bun!

Whether you’ve made this sandwich before or are learning about it just now, I hope that you will enjoy the knowledge that, when you eat a chopped cheese, Lady Gaga is proud of you. It pairs well with some potato chips, a pickle and your favorite Lady Gaga song!

This Is What Ina Garten Eats for Breakfast Every Day https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/ina-garten-breakfast-2025/ Fri, 13 Jun 2025 11:37:45 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2152546 She changed it up recently!

The post This Is What Ina Garten Eats for Breakfast Every Day appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Ina Garten knows a little thing or two about food. Her recipes are simple and delicious, her breezy Hamptons aesthetic is aspirational and her daily habits? Well, let’s just say she’s got a lot on her plate. So she streamlines where she can.

Sometimes, this means making a bunch of soup at once and freezing it to enjoy with Jeffrey later. She prefers to go out to eat or over to friends’ homes for dinner after a long day of testing recipes. But no matter what the rest of her day looks like, she always starts it with the exact same meal.

What does Ina Garten eat for breakfast every day?

If you think that the Barefoot Contessa is part of the celebrity oatmeal club, you’re wrong! Well, you’re half wrong. It’s true, much like Willie Nelson, Kate Middleton and Giada di Laurentiis, Ina used to start her day with oatmeal. Specifically, McCann’s Irish quick-cooking oatmeal. But after doing that for more than a decade, she changed her tune.

In fact, her time spent in Paris might have something to do with the switch-up. Ina actually bought an apartment in Paris and spends a lot of time in the City of Lights. It’s where she found her new obsession that made its way into her morning routine: fancy French butter.

“It’s called Beurre de Baratte with flaked sea salt. And it’s just so delicious,” she told Julia Louis-Dreyfus on an episode of the podcast Wiser Than Me. This really is the crème de la crème of butters—imagine a dairy product that “eats like cheese but tastes like butter,” as one food writer put it.

So with this fancy butter in her rotation, Ina has switched from a hearty oatmeal breakfast to a lighter fare. “I pretty much have toast and coffee for breakfast,” she also said on the podcast. “And then at exactly 10:30, I have to have a cup of tea with a little honey in it.”

I gotta say, Ina is pretty much living my ideal life. And while I can’t quite afford the Paris apartment, I can definitely splurge on some fancy butter and a great loaf of homemade bread.

Coronation Chicken Was Invented for Queen Elizabeth II https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/coronation-chicken-queen-elizabeth/ Tue, 10 Jun 2025 21:55:48 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2152467 Talk about a meal fit for a queen!

The post Coronation Chicken Was Invented for Queen Elizabeth II appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
One of the main jobs of any reigning monarch is to be a good host. Whether its a state visit, royal wedding or simply a dinner party, the celebrations pretty much never end. So it’s no wonder that a lot of recipes have been created to keep up with this demanding social calendar!

Some of these recipes end up lost to history. Other times they’re just not super appealing to a modern palate (I don’t need everything suspended in gelatin, you know?). But one of the dishes created for Queen Elizabeth II’s ascendance to the throne remains in regular rotation in kitchens and restaurants across the United Kingdom and beyond. I’m talking, of course, about coronation chicken.

What is coronation chicken?

Coronation chicken is a dish specially created for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth. Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth on February 6, 1952, when her father King George VI passed away. It wasn’t until the following year, on June 2, 1953, that she had her official coronation ceremony. The gap between the two occasions isn’t unusual. For starters, it takes a while to plan a state celebration of that magnitude: King Charles III became king on September 8, 2022 and his coronation was held in May of 2023.

There was a lot to celebrate about Queen Elizabeth, though. It was a period of immense transition in the world, with World War II ending just a few years prior. England had been the site of bombings and destruction during the war, so it was a time of rebuilding and rebirth. Elizabeth’s coronation was truly unique since it was the very first televised coronation!

Naturally, a history-making occasion calls for a special menu, and thus coronation chicken was born. Created by Constance Spry and Rosemary Hume, the bright chicken salad was made with mayonnaise and cream, and flavored with curry powder, shallots and a few other spices. The original recipe was made with dried apricots, though some modern interpretations use sultanas.

For such a fancy occasion, it’s a dish that is actually pretty easy to whip up and keep on hand. It can be enjoyed on a bed of lettuce, with a bowl of rice or as a filling for sandwiches. Like most chicken salads, the best way to eat it is after you let it marinate for a couple days in the fridge. Time to get in the kitchen and make yourself a meal fit for a queen!

Glen Powell’s Breakfast Hack Has Fans Divided https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/glen-powells-breakfast-sandwich/ Sun, 08 Jun 2025 14:00:08 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2147904 Glen Powell's hit movies and condiment line, Smash Kitchen, can't save him from criticism over his controversial breakfast hack.

The post Glen Powell’s Breakfast Hack Has Fans Divided appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
The best part of waking up? Coffee. The second best part? Breakfast. Now imagine that Glen Powell is serving you both. Doesn’t that sound like a spectacular morning?

If you feel like you’re seeing Glen Powell everywhere lately, you’re not alone. While OG Powell-heads will remember his blink-and-you’ll miss it turn as astronaut John Glenn in 2016’s Oscar-winning film Hidden Figures, the actor and screenwriter has been making waves in Hollywood lately in recent rom-coms (Set It Up and Anyone But You, where his chemistry with Zoey Deutch and Sydney Sweeney, respectively, was off the charts). Last year, he went viral for his rendition of the “Apple” dance trend with his Twisters co-stars.

When he isn’t playing the world’s most charismatic leading man, he’s probably eating something delicious. He’s a huge food lover, and even launched a condiment line called Smash Kitchen earlier this year. But there was one moment on social media where fans started to question his food savvy, and it has to do with swapping out a common breakfast staple.

What is Glen Powell’s breakfast hack?

In a video for Bon Appétit, Glen revealed his favorite way to make a breakfast sandwich. I need you to emotionally brace yourself for what’s coming: He … doesn’t use any bread! Gasp! Instead, he loves to use an air-fried sweet potato to make his open-face egg sammie, which he folds up taco-style.

Now, a couple thoughts here:

 1. The sweet potato isn’t crispy. He mentions specifically that he likes to “make it crispier” so it “kinda feels a little bit more like bread.” In the video, you can watch him pick up the “sandwich” and the sweet potato folds like a sock fresh out of the dryer. It’s actually pretty impressive that he managed to make a slice of sweet potato so soft, when it’s normally sturdy and inflexible! What gives, Glen!?
 2. This isn’t a sandwich. Listen, I understand the need for a good ingredient swap now and again—I’m the queen of the egg replacement, after all. But I don’t know why Glen Powell is insisting on eating this as a sandwich. Why not use a fork and knife? The minute he takes a bite out of it, the whole thing becomes a mess, and you can see him search around for napkins that aren’t there. The egg yolk runs all over the place, and if he had used actual bread, it would have sopped up a little bit of that yolk.
 3. We have evolved. The sweet-potato-as-bread hack has been around for a very long time. There are many reasons why people might avoid bread: celiac disease, gluten intolerance, a desire to diversify their palate, not in the mood for it, etc. But if you want a bread swap, there are a ton of grain-free and low-carb options out there. In my opinion, he’s better off using one of those egg wraps or a low-carb tortilla instead. Or just dice the sweet potatoes and add it to a scramble!

Lest you think I’m trying to yuck his yum, I’m not! I genuinely don’t think he is enjoying this swap, and I want better for him. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you simply cannot let it flop. Glen, if you need help making breakfast, I volunteer as tribute.

My Dad and I Tried Tom Holland’s Nonalcoholic Beer—Here’s Our Honest Review https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/tom-holland-bero-review/ Fri, 06 Jun 2025 23:24:59 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2151830 "Well, it certainly burps like an IPA."

The post My Dad and I Tried Tom Holland’s Nonalcoholic Beer—Here’s Our Honest Review appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
There was a time when the mere mention of a nonalcoholic beer would send whispers of judgment and confusion across the bar. I remember serving a customer once who ordered a Clausthaler. When I collected it from the bartender, she said derisively, “Here’s your fake beer,” before plopping it onto my tray. I certainly scoffed at the idea then too.

But I have changed my tune on “fake beers” in the decades since, and I’m not the only one. There has been a new boon of nonalcoholic beverages hitting shelves, as well as a full-blown mocktail renaissance. So, when Tom Holland decided to enter the nonalcoholic beer game, I was intrigued. And, unbeknownst to me, so was my father.

What is Tom Holland’s nonalcoholic beer brand?

In 2024, Tom Holland launched BERO. He was inspired to do so after his own journey with sobriety. “I don’t think I realized how big a problem I had when it comes to alcohol until I gave it up,” he said in an interview with Food & Wine.

I understand this mentality completely, and I actually spent 15 months sober in my late twenties. Fed up with the intensity of my hangovers (not to mention the dollars I was pouring into food delivery and Ubers!) I wanted to prove to myself that I could spend a full year navigating everything without alcohol. That meant holidays, dating, work events, weddings and everything in between. It totally renewed my relationship with drinking, as I’m sure many people who participate in Dry January can confirm.

When my dad, Ted, had a heart attack in 2023, his doctor told him to cut back on alcohol. He said what he missed the most was the ritual of cracking open a cold one, especially after mowing the lawn or sitting down for the first football kickoff on Sundays. He told me that Tom Holland launching BERO was the first time he seriously considered giving a nonalcoholic beer another try. Of course, in typical dad fashion he didn’t tell me this at the time. He mentioned it a year later when I asked him if he wanted to try BERO’s new flavor, Double Tasty.

What does Tom Holland’s nonalcoholic beer taste like?

Double Tasty is a West Coast IPA, and it’s the newest addition to the BERO lineup. My dad and I chilled a 6-pack in the fridge before settling in for a game night. I figured the best way to try out the NA beer was by doing something we would normally do with regular beer.

We decided to drink the first one out of the can, and then pour the second one into a chilled pint glass. Right after cracking one open, I was immediately hit with that distinctively citrus smell of a classic West Coast IPA.

The first sip tasted exactly like regular beer. It was actually a little weird! The flavor was phenomenal: crisp, hoppy and bitter. My dad loved it too. “I’m not normally a fan of this style of beer, but it’s refreshing,” he said. The first can went down incredibly smoothly. “Well, it certainly burps like an IPA,” he said after finishing one can with a belch.

Next, we moved on to pouring the beer into a chilled pint glass. This is when we really started to go a little crazy, because it both felt and tasted like we were drinking a real beer. We kept marveling at it as we drank. “I feel like there is beer in here. But there’s not, right?” Ted said, picking up the can to inspect the label. “Nope, guess not.”

Another place where BERO stood out to us was how well it was able to keep a head when poured into a glass. “It pours with a nice head,” Ted remarked. “Other nonalcoholic beers never kept a good head, and aesthetically that always bothered me.” It might sound small, but it’s actually pretty important—who wants to keep drinking a beer that looks like its gone flat?

Would we buy Tom Holland’s nonalcoholic beer again?

The answer is a resounding yes! I was shocked at how good this beer was, and my dad was as well. Not only did it taste and look good, but it also tasted and looked like real beer. This is a remarkable breakthrough for the NA industry, in my opinion. I would seek this out to have on hand for days when I don’t want to feel the after-effects of drinking beer, but am sick of drinking sparkling water or soda.

I don’t think of my dad as a particularly harsh judge of anything, but I do think it takes a lot to really impress him. This is the same man who once said in all seriousness, “Soda does nothing for me.” So obviously there’s a high bar to clear in Ted’s beverage world. I asked him for his final thoughts on the tasting experiment, and this is what he had to say:

“This tastes like a real beer to me. Certain days I have a taste for a beer, like if it’s hot out or I worked up a sweat. But I don’t always want the alcohol buzz, because then I have two beers and I feel like I want to lie down. I have sampled many nonalcoholic beers. I’d rank this as the best one.”

Well, there you have it folks. The official dad seal of approval. If you haven’t had a chance to try out BERO, you might just want to add it to your cart.

The post Tyrese Haliburton Eats the Same Meal Before Every Game appeared first on Taste Recipes.

Elite athletes are notoriously superstitious. Serena Williams ties her shoelaces in the exact same order before every match. Michael Jordan always wore his University of North Carolina shorts under his Chicago Bulls uniform. These habits often extend to what star athletes eat before big games.

The NBA Finals are underway, with the Indiana Pacers taking the first game of the series from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Even before the game rolled around, we already knew what was going to be on the game-day menu for the Pacers star point and shooting guard Tyrese Haliburton that day—and every game day of the finals. That’s because Tyrese is known for eating the same exact thing before every game.

What does Tyrese Haliburton eat before every game?

In an interview with GQ, Tyrese revealed details about his game-day rituals, including what he eats before games. It turns out the lunch menu never changes.

It’s always “chicken, rice, and bread with a green juice,” Tyrese told GQ.

That balanced lunch—filling, but not too heavy—is part of Tyrese’s established game-day routine that also includes taking his dog for a morning walk and playing some video games or watching TV to relax, according to the two-time NBA All-Star.

After every game, food is also top of mind. Tyrese calls himself a “pasta head,” so he usually will carb load with some pasta to refuel as he winds down from the day’s action. He also typically enjoys cherry juice—he’s an investor in Cheribundi juice—after his post-game massage, as he credits the juice with helping to alleviate his aches and pains.

As for the days when he’s off-duty, Tyrese enjoys a mix of comforting dishes, and the menu is far less regimented. He told GQ he likes “a big plate of French toast, eggs, and bacon” for breakfast. For lunch, he’ll nosh on a sandwich, like a grilled cheese, and tomato soup.

For dinner, you’ll typically catch Tyrese eating some pasta with a Caesar salad and bread, though he’s also a big fan of spicy tuna crispy rice, according to an interview with the Pacers’ YouTube channel. He also takes each meal with a smoothie.

Now that we know pasta is central to the NBA star-approved dinner menu, we know what we’ll be cooking to fuel up for the rest of our Finals cheering!

Ina Garten is a domestic goddess for good reason. For starters, her signature catchphrases (“store-bought is fine” and “how easy is that”) echo in the heads of so many home chefs as they pull off an exciting recipe. She knows exactly how to help you both elevate and simplify your next dinner party. It’s why fans are obsessed with her recipes—like her beef bourguignon and pork tenderloin.

But as so often happens with celebrity chefs, the longer they stay in the spotlight, the more we become interested in what they eat on a daily basis. Sure, I can make Ina’s brownie pudding to my heart’s content, but is that the dessert that she is eating on repeat? (Turns out it’s the humble French apple tart!) So when I found out that Ina and Jeffrey eat the same thing together for lunch every day, I just about swooned. Especially because it’s one of my favorite lunch options, too!

What do Ina and Jeffrey Garten eat for lunch together every day?

For the uninitiated, Ina and Jeffrey Garten got married in 1968. If you don’t want to do the math (I never do!), that means they have been married for an astonishing 56 years. And apparently, they eat soup together every day for lunch! Makes sense, because soup is just the perfect lunch option—and it’s so versatile. She revealed this lunch date menu on an episode of the Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus podcast.

“Jeffrey and I always have soup, which is so easy because I can make a lot of soup and leave it in the freezer,” she told Julia.

It looks like both Ina Garten and I are big fans of batch-preparing soup and freezing it for later. In fact, Ina’s favorite comfort meal is butternut squash soup. I like to imagine her sitting down to enjoy a nice big bowl of soup with some crusty bread, a glass of wine and, of course, Jeffrey!

If you want to learn more about Ina and Jeffrey and somehow haven’t read Ina’s memoir yet, I can’t recommend it enough. Listen to the audiobook version if you can, because she narrates it!

Poutine served and reday to eat

Poutine

Obviously, poutine has to be on this list. Nothing is more Québécois than this delicious French fry, cheese curd and brown gravy confection. I think it’s the most appropriate pairing for the Stanley Cup, since they are two staples of Canadian culture. Joel Edmundson (2019 St. Louis Blues) and Mathieu Joseph (2021 Tampa Bay Lightning) both enjoyed this delicacy from the Cup.

Homemade Pierogi served and reday to eat

Pierogi

A dish close to my heart, in more ways than one. Marian Hossa (2013 Chicago Blackhawks) ate a feast of pierogis out of the Cup. As someone from the Chicagoland area, I loved watching my team win the Stanley Cup. And then to see Hossa indulge in one of life’s greatest inventions—the pierogi—from the vessel? Chef’s kiss, truly. My Slovak ancestors would be proud.

Toasted Ravioli

Toasted Ravioli

I gotta say, watching players eat the local specialties of their home city is incredibly sweet. So naturally, seeing Patrick Maroon (2019 St. Louis Blues) indulge in toasted ravioli and marinara sauce straight from the Cup was charming. The Blues posted about it on social media, calling it “the most St. Louis thing ever.” The only way he could take it up a notch would be to dine with the Cup under the Arch.

Borscht soup served in ceramic bowl garnisehd with sour cream and dill sprigs.

Borscht

Remember that I said at least one player went the soup route? It was Wade Klippenstein (2022 Colorado Avalanche). He filled the Stanley Cup with borscht, and served it at a family gathering. It’s like that classic saying, “the family that eats borscht out of the Stanley Cup together, stays together.” Do you think he had any issues with staining?

Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog

Hot Dogs

Listen, it might not be the first thing you would think of to serve from a bowl, but I guarantee that it’s delicious. Phil Kessel (2017 Pittsburgh Penguins) took the Stanley Cup to a golf course and filled it with hot dogs. They were all individually wrapped, so I guess he was able to cart it along from hole to hole and unwrap a dog whenever he got hungry. If this was the norm, maybe I’d give golf a chance!

Close up of delicious appetizer scallops with black caviar

Caviar

If there was ever a reason to splurge on a meal, winning the Stanley Cup would be it! David Savard (2021 Tampa Bay Lightning) went all-in on his Stanley Cup food. Not only did he fill it with caviar, but he also added scallops (amazing) and mashed potatoes (OK, sure). It’s a meal that is best enjoyed wearing a tuxedo—Canadian or otherwise.

Bloody mary cocktail with garnishes on wooden table

Bloody Mary

One of the best things about brunch? Loaded Bloody Marys! We’ve come a long way from the simple garnishes of celery, olives and a lime or lemon wedge. You haven’t lived until you’ve ordered a Bloody Mary replete with a mini hamburger slider, a cocktail weenie and a piece of shrimp. That’s what Erik Johnson (2022 Colorado Avalanche) filled his Stanley Cup with. Oh, and did I mention that there were doughnuts present, too?

Colorful marshmallow cereal in a blue bowl on a weathered wood background

Lucky Charms

A magically delicious option for some magically talented players. Multiple members of last year’s championship team, the Florida Panthers, said that this particular breakfast cereal was something they enjoyed straight from the Stanley Cup. And I have to admit, eating a bowl of cereal out of this giant trophy seems like it would be really fun. Especially since it basically comes on its own stand—so you could probably eat it on the sofa without much effort.

Beer mugs on a table

Beer

Duh! This is hockey, after all. Sure, you could go the fancy route with champagne (which many players do), but nothing goes better with hockey than a big Stanley Cup-sized portion of beer. While I’m sure they just pour bottles or cans of beer into the vessel, I like to imagine them taking it out to a bar and having a bartender pour draft beer into it from the tap. And an honorable mention to Wade Klippenstein (2022 Colorado Avalanche) for filling the cup with a different kind of beer: root beer floats!

We Just Learned About Tina Fey’s Go-To Lunch Order https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/tina-fey-lunch-order/ https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/tina-fey-lunch-order/#respond Fri, 06 Jun 2025 15:53:41 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2150330 Much like the fictional Liz Lemon, it turns out Tina is drawn to a sandwich.

The post We Just Learned About Tina Fey’s Go-To Lunch Order appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Hot take alert: Sandwiches are the ideal food. From petite cucumber sandwiches at afternoon tea to decadent club sandwiches at your favorite neighborhood diner, they’re easy to make, easy to eat, endlessly customizable and all around comforting.

It’s not just us, though. Comedian Tina Fey is also well-known for her penchant for sandwiches. From the famous “Sandwich Day” episode of her show 30 Rock to having a sandwich named after her Liz Lemon character, the iconic Saturday Night Live alum knows a thing or two about all the things you can put between two slices of bread.

It turns out Tina has some strong opinions about which sandwich chains reign supreme too.

What does Tina Fey eat for lunch?

According to a past interview, Tina prefers the sandwich chain Jimmy John’s over Potbelly, and it was once her go-to lunch order. Given that Tina got her comedy start in Chicago as part of the Second City improv troupe, it was a surprising choice that she chose Jimmy John’s over the Windy City favorite.

“I like Jimmy John’s better than Potbelly’s,” Tina said. “Take that Chicago. I just sent a ripple through the Chicago sandwich community.”

As for what exactly Tina orders from her favorite sandwich chain, the jury is still out, but if life imitates art, we’ve got to guess she is probably most drawn to a turkey sandwich topped with pastrami, Swiss and potato chips—the key ingredients of the Reuben-like Liz Lemon sandwich from 30 Rock which the internet has been trying to expertly recreate for more than 15 years now.

Another possible candidate for Tina’s favorite sandwich is a roast beef sandwich topped with mozzarella cheese and roasted red peppers from Fiore’s House of Quality, a sandwich shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. The sandwich is said to have inspired the sandwich that Tina’s Liz Lemon famously noshes on at the airport security line in 30 Rock‘s “Sandwich Day” episode.

Either way, we’re not about to argue with comedy royalty. We’ll take one of each, please. We can have it all, after all!

This is Addison Rae’s Go-To Starbucks Order https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/addison-rae-starbucks-order/ Fri, 06 Jun 2025 14:48:34 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2149527 It's a classic and refreshing combo.

The post This is Addison Rae’s Go-To Starbucks Order appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Addison Rae burst onto the social media scene back in 2019 when TikTok was just starting to gain popularity as a platform. She currently has 88 million followers, which makes her the fifth-most followed account on TikTok. (For my trivia nerds, Khaby Lame claims the top spot with 162 million followers.)

If you’re just discovering her right now, there are a few things you should know about Addison. First, she loves to dance, and sometimes she even includes her mom in her videos. Second—and far more importantly—she loves to sing!

Yes, Addison is a pop girlie at heart, and her first single “Diet Pepsi” went viral on, where else, TikTok! Since breaking into the music industry, she has even been featured on a remix of one of Charli XCX’s songs from Brat. But did you know that Addison is also a big Starbucks girlie?

What is Addison Rae’s Starbucks order?

When she’s not singing and dancing her way across your TikTok feed, she’s probably fueling up. While she has mentioned her favorite foods with a variety of outlets—beignets, buttered noodles and bananas are high on her list—the way she shared her Starbucks order was even more special.

TikToker Mackenzie Turner made an entire series of videos in 2020 in which she asked other popular TikTokers for their food preferences so she could “eat like them” for a day. She asked Addison for her Starbucks order, which Addison shared via DM. Her go-to order is a “venti pink drink with no strawberries and light ice,” plus a “bacon and gouda” breakfast sandwich.

Real Starbucks lovers know that getting the Pink Drink without berries is an absolute game changer, and if you haven’t tried it yet, this is the sign that you should to do it! Plus, light ice means more drink to enjoy. The sweetness of the Pink Drink pairs nicely with the breakfast sandwich, and honestly, I might need to hit up Starbucks right now and try this combo for myself.

Ashley Tisdale’s Picky 4-Year Old Loves This Food, Thanks to Bluey https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/ashley-tisdale-bluey-bushs-baked-beans/ Wed, 04 Jun 2025 17:06:13 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2151501 Never underestimate the power of a cartoon collab.

The post Ashley Tisdale’s Picky 4-Year Old Loves This Food, Thanks to Bluey appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Every so often, two things come together for an unexpected yet magical collaboration. Like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Or, jalapenos and wine. You might like these things separately, and never have thought about just how powerful they could be when combined. So imagine my delight when I found out that Ashley Tisdale was partnering with Bush’s Baked Beans and Bluey to make family dinnertime, well, magical!

I was able to catch up with Ashley ahead of the Bush’s Bluey Baked Beans launch. We spoke about the importance—and stress—of family mealtimes, and how to manage picky eaters. It’s certainly no small feat to get dinner on the table every night, especially when you have a 4-year-old and a 9-month-old to contend with like Ashley does. Here’s how she navigates family meals like a pro, the advice she got about getting kids into the kitchen, and how Bush’s Baked Beans swept in to save the day (no, really!).

What’s the most exciting aspect of partnering with both Bush’s and Bluey?

I just love that Bush’s is a family-owned brand. Being a mom of two, I love to partner with companies that I enjoy and are really authentic. We’ve always used Bush’s baked beans, so I was really excited to be a part of their team.

And obviously, we’re huge fans of Bluey. I don’t know who loves Bluey more, my 4-year-old or my husband! I catch him getting so emotional at times watching the show.

How have meal times and cooking changed since having children?

Everything has changed! I’m constantly busy with work, so you know, whether it’s cooking or putting on makeup, everything has gotten shorter. Easy recipes are really important right now because I can’t experiment as much in the kitchen with two little kids. The whole goal is to make a nutritious meal and have fun together. After I had my first baby my trainer was like, “You have to get in the kitchen. It’s important for your kids to see you cooking.” And that has always really stuck with me.

So, yeah, meal time has become more fun, because now it’s family time. Having kids has made it more enjoyable, and it’s fun to connect with them, especially after working all day. It’s become something I never miss—dinner and bath time.

What advice would you give to parents of picky eaters?

It’s funny because Jupiter is a picky eater, but Emerson, my 9-month-old, eats everything. I’m so glad!

Picky eaters are really, really hard. You’ve just got to keep trying. When I first started, I was giving her too many options. Something my nutritionist taught me was to put together a plate with something she loves, something that’s brand new to her, and something that’s in between. Stick with the key things they love and keep adding something new so they get used to seeing it.

What is your favorite meal that you make for your kids?

Probably breakfast, even if it’s for dinner! One of the foods Jupiter has always loved has been beans, which is great since beans have so much nutrition. But honestly, anything that she will eat is exciting for us. We do a lot of scrambled eggs or mac and cheese mixed with Bush’s Baked Beans for dinner. Everybody wins!

Pedro Pascal’s Favorite Breakfast Is a Big Bowl of Nostalgia https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/pedro-pascals-favorite-breakfast/ Fri, 30 May 2025 23:06:11 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2148643 As if you needed another reason to love him!

The post Pedro Pascal’s Favorite Breakfast Is a Big Bowl of Nostalgia appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Pedro Pascal might just be the internet’s favorite celeb. The actor, known for his roles in Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, goes viral frequently. Sometimes it’s for his “insane” Starbucks order or the fact that he flies economy to film festivals. And other times? Well, sometimes you just need an excuse to celebrate him in all his heartthrob glory.

He also happens to be a huge fan of food, which is great for me because it means that I get to write about him. During an interview with LADbible, he and Jon Favreau compared notes on American and Chilean snacks. Pedro Pascal was born in Santiago and came to the U.S. when he was a toddler. “Oh man, this is really nostalgic,” he says while eating an alfajor cookie—a sweet treat that also happened to be a favorite of the late Pope Francis.

Delicious South American treats aside, there is one American snack/breakfast dish that Pedro Pascal simply can’t get enough of—and it’s a sentiment he shares with thousands of children across the country.

What is Pedro Pascal’s favorite breakfast food?

While appearing on an episode of Hot Ones, he got real about his love of cereal. And not just any cereal: Pedro loves Cap’n Crunch! “Cap’n Crunch is just so tasty,” he tells host Sean Evans. “It tastes like caramel. It’s its own thing. It makes you think about your childhood. I would do anything to go back there right now.” This is the second time he’s been nostalgic about caramel-flavored treats!

But this isn’t the first time he’s publicly declared his affinity for the cereal. Pedro elaborated on his love of Cap’n Crunch on a Reddit AMA back in 2014: “Someone asked how I feel about Captain Crunch: I’m capable of eating an entire box of it without any milk,” he wrote. Talk about a dedicated fan. Someone needs to get the marketing team at Cap’n Crunch on the phone—I think you’ve found yourself a new spokesperson!

Selena Gomez Confirms Horchata Is the Flavor of the Summer https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/selena-gomez-oreos/ Fri, 30 May 2025 22:37:28 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2147928 This is gearing up to be one tasty summer!

Selena Gomez knows what she loves. Her fiancé, Benny Blanco, for starters. She is also a big fan of food—specifically, chicken salad and pickles. When she’s not on set filming Only Murders in the Building with co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, she’s probably working on her bestselling beauty brand, Rare Beauty (Selena, if you’re reading this, I’ll take a Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Happy, thanks!).

It’s a very busy life for a very talented woman, and, naturally, she deserves a little treat when she gets home from work! When it comes to sweets, there is one specific flavor of one iconic cookie that will be on rotation in her house all summer long. She’s teaming up with Oreo to launch a limited-edition flavor—and it’s absolutely perfect for summer.

What makes the Selena Gomez Oreos special?

These Selena Gomez Oreos have the classic chocolate cookie on the outside and a horchata-inspired cinnamon cream inside. It’s a winning combination that’s sure to delight your taste buds—imagine dipping one in horchata.

Something that is really special about this particular Oreo collab is that select Oreos will have Selena Gomez’s signature on them. It’s the first time that Oreo has done this with one of its celeb collections, and it is pretty cool to think that you can eat an Oreo “signed” by Selena. There will apparently be other Easter eggs and fun little nods to Selena songs for the biggest Selena stans to find.

When can I buy the Selena Gomez Oreos?

You’ll be able to pre-order your Oreos starting June 2, and they should be available in-store at select retailers on June 9. Since these collabs usually sell out, you should probably set an alarm to remind yourself if this is a must-have item for your pantry—or Selena shrine.

The post I Made Ina Garten’s Limoncello Spritz, and It’s the Only Drink I Need This Summer appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Pitcher cocktails are a key shortcut to breezy entertaining. Who wants to go through all the trouble of stocking a full bar, mixing individual drinks, or worse yet, leaving your guests to mix their own drinks? Every party should have a pre-mixed signature cocktail, ready to go in a big pitcher.

When I first spotted Ina Garten’s limoncello vodka spritz going around the internet, I immediately bookmarked it. In this video, Ina explains the drink is basically a limoncello Tom Collins, but instead of the gin found in the classic cocktail, she uses vodka, plus Italian lemon liqueur to ramp up the lemon flavor.

This cocktail is simple to make. It’s super refreshing and tastes like lemon candy—perfect for summer!

What Is Limoncello

Limoncello is a popular Italian lemon-flavored liqueur, containing about 30% alcohol by volume. It’s usually served chilled and in small amounts, after a meal as a digestivo. Limoncello is equally sweet and tart and makes a lively addition to cocktails. It’s available in most liquor shops, but you can make limoncello from scratch.

Ingredients for Ina Garten’s Limoncello Spritz

 • 1-1/2 cups vodka
 • 1 cup lemon juice
 • 6 tablespoons sugar syrup
 • 1/4 cup limoncello
 • 1-1/2 cups Italian sparkling water
 • Lemon slices, for garnish
 • Ice, for serving
 • Optional: 1 tablespoon granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon salt for a sugar-salt rim

Instructions

Step 1: Make the sugar syrup

Ina sweetens her cocktail with “sugar syrup.” Simple syrup has a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water; sugar syrup has a 2:1 ratio, resulting in a thicker mixture and more concentrated sweetness. (I found the original recipe with 6 tablespoons of syrup quite sweet. I recommend starting with 4 tablespoons and going up from there if needed.)

To make the sugar syrup, combine 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of water in a small pot. Warm gently for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Step 2: Mix the spritzer

In a large pitcher, combine the vodka, lemon juice, sugar syrup and limoncello. Stir to incorporate. Then add the sparkling water and stir once more.

Step 3: Prepare individual drinks

Ina recommends serving the cocktail with a sugar-salt rim, which makes for a special presentation but isn’t entirely necessary.

In a saucer, combine the sugar and salt. Run a lemon wedge around the rim of your serving glass, then dip the rim in the sugar-salt mixture. Place ice in the glass and fill with the drink. Garnish with a lemon slice and serve.

Recipe Notes

 • Ina says fresh lemon juice is “very important.” Don’t tell her, but I used bottled lemon juice and the drink was still great!
 • Don’t feel like making sugar syrup? Use pure maple syrup or honey instead.
 • Switch up the spirit. This drink is equally great with gin or tequila, or mezcal if you enjoy the smokiness.

Bruno Mars’s Favorite Meal Is This Filipino Dish His Mom Makes https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/bruno-mars-favorite-meal/ https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/bruno-mars-favorite-meal/#respond Fri, 23 May 2025 14:18:29 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2145935 A nostalgic, comforting classic tops the charts for this Grammy-winning star.

The post Bruno Mars’s Favorite Meal Is This Filipino Dish His Mom Makes appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Is there anything more satisfying than a home-cooked dinner? One of my favorite meals growing up in the Midwest was my dad’s beef stew. It would simmer in the slow cooker all day, filling the house with the most irresistible smell that would leave me impatient for dinner time. I crave it to this day.

This love for a parent’s cooking is something Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Bruno Mars and I have in common. When it comes to his favorite foods, Bruno also has fond memories of the foods he ate while growing up in Hawaii—especially one particular dish prepared by his Filipino mother.

What does Bruno Mars love to eat?

Bruno’s favorite dish is chicken adobo, which is the unofficial national dish of the Philippines. In a past interview, Bruno mentioned that his mom would prepare the tangy, savory dish for him when he was growing up. She typically served it with a helping of yellow rice combined with olives and diced peppers—a recipe from his grandmother—on the side.

What makes chicken adobo so special is the deceptively simple balance of vinegar, soy and garlic in the marinade. Before the chicken even touches the skillet, it marinates in these strong flavors, which team up to give it its signature velvety texture and rich taste.

Bruno loves his mom’s chicken adobo so much, he even embraced the dish as his own nickname. In an Instagram post the singer shared from an appearance in Manila, he revealed his alter ego: Lil Prince Adobo. The dish connects to his heritage and, we can only guess, makes the globe-trotting performer feel closer to home wherever in the world he finds himself on any given day.

The family recipe also inspired the “24K Magic” singer to get into the kitchen himself. While he’s joked that he “can make Pop Tarts,” he also says that he’s learned a lot from watching his mom cook and now knows his way around the kitchen.

Despite packing big flavors, Bruno’s mom’s signature dish is a surprisingly simple and fast weeknight dinner too. If you don’t mind us, we’ll be giving this recipe a spin tonight.

This is What Queen Elizabeth Fed Her Corgis (and It’s Not Dog Food) https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/queen-elizabeth-corgis-food/ Fri, 23 May 2025 13:13:02 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2146318 The royal dogs get a full culinary experience.

The post This is What Queen Elizabeth Fed Her Corgis (and It’s Not Dog Food) appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
“Iconic” might be the best way to describe Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign over England. From her signature black handbag to her famous dislike of garlic, the Queen’s many preferences, rules and quirks were well-documented. And perhaps nothing was more synonymous with the Queen than her love of corgis.

Over her life, Queen Elizabeth had more than 30 corgis as pets. Her very first corgi, Susan, was given to her on her eighteenth birthday (Susan is so important that she has her very own Wikipedia page—talk about an influencer!). It’s clear that this corgi love runs deep, so naturally she made sure to keep all of her corgis in tip-top shape by feeding them a pretty royal diet.

Sometimes I give my dog a fancier dining experience by adding some broth or baked veggies to her kibble. But that’s nothing compared to the cuisine these royal dogs enjoyed.

What did Queen Elizabeth feed her corgis?

Unsurprisingly, the royal dogs had their very own royal menu. Former royal chef Darren McGrady elaborated on this menu for Hello magazine: “One day it would be beef, the next day chicken, the next day lamb, the next day rabbit,” he said. The meals would always alternate so they never got the same thing two days in a row. I’m jealous that these dogs have never been stuck eating reheated leftovers!

The meat was always prepared the same way: poached, the bones removed, then diced into tiny pieces. If any of the dogs were sick, they would be fed cabbage or rice instead to help with their transit. It was always a very regimented schedule, and the Queen herself would feed the dogs after enjoying her afternoon tea.

One detail from this interview really sticks out to me, and it has to do with Prince William and Prince Harry. “Prince William and Prince Harry used to shoot rabbits on the Windsor Estate,” says Darren McGrady. “So we’d get the rabbits, they’d have to be cleaned and then cooked.” So yes, these royal dogs were eating freshly hunted game from the future King of England. Talk about farm to table—or should I say farm to bowl!

This Is What Timothée Chalamet Eats for Breakfast Every Day https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/timothee-chalamet-breakfast/ Fri, 23 May 2025 08:06:46 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2146277 He knows what he wants, and he wants a lot of it.

The post This Is What Timothée Chalamet Eats for Breakfast Every Day appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Timothée Chalamet’s star power is on the rise and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. He’s been in so many iconic movies over the last decade. I’d be surprised if you haven’t caught him in at least one!

He’s worked with co-star Saoirse Ronan in two separate Greta Gerwig movies, Lady Bird and Little Women. In last year’s biopic A Complete Unknown, he played folk music legend Bob Dylan. And of course, he helms the blockbuster Dune franchise as leading man—and cautionary tale—Paul Atreides.

When Timothée Chalamet isn’t showing up to his own lookalike contests or flexing his French skills in an interview, he’s probably fueling up for a long day of filming. I already know his favorite snack is the Tarte d’Alsace from Trader Joe’s. Naturally, I had to wonder what he eats for breakfast, and the answer is two very different things.

What does Timothée Chalamet eat for breakfast?

I think the phrase “go big or go home” applies to one of the breakfasts that Timothée enjoys. In an interview with IMDb, a reporter asks him what he had for breakfast that day. His response? “A ham and onion omelet with a side of avocado,” he said. “Some potatoes, some sausage, some oatmeal, orange juice and a coffee.” Talk about a breakfast of champions! He clarifies that after a month of filming Dune in the desert, he was “ready to go crazy.” And crazy he went! It all sounds delicious, though.

But a decadent three-course breakfast menu isn’t always what he opts for in the morning. In fact, his usual breakfast option is from a New York restaurant in the East Village called Tompkins Square Bagels. He’s been spotted eating at the restaurant several times and was once asked what his favorite bagel order is. His go-to is a classic: a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese, aka a “BEC.”

No matter which vibe Timmy is feeling on any given day, it’s a safe bet to say his breakfast will include eggs. As a fan of savory breakfasts myself, I approve of this. The next time you see Paul Atreides riding atop a sandworm in Dune, I want you to imagine that he’s racing toward a BEC sandwich!

This Is the One Food Selena Gomez Has to Have at Her Wedding https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/selena-gomez-benny-blanco-wedding-food/ Fri, 23 May 2025 02:29:29 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2145365 No, it's not chicken salad.

The post This Is the One Food Selena Gomez Has to Have at Her Wedding appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Selena Gomez and fiance Benny Blanco have a lot of wedding planning to do. The couple got engaged in December, and so far don’t seem to be in a rush to organize the details yet.

But one detail that remains very important for the couple is the food. Selena has her own cooking show, and Benny has his own cookbook. Even celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay weighed in on the announcement with a food-related comment: “Congratulations to you both it must be the cooking.” And what’s more—they actually got engaged over a Taco Bell Mexican pizza! Do you think Benny got down on one knee and asked Selena if she would like to live más, forever?

What food will Selena Gomez absolutely have at her wedding?

Although the couple has made very little public about their wedding planning, they have mentioned one item that needs to be at their big day. It’s challah!

Benny Blanco is Jewish, and challah is a traditional Jewish bread that is often served for ceremonial or celebratory occasions. So, it will fit right in at their wedding! Challah is made from enriched dough and can be braided into intricate loaves that make for quite a lavish—and delicious—centerpiece. It also makes a great base for French toast or bread pudding.

But it’s not just any challah that Benny wants at the wedding, it’s the challah that his friend Jake Cohen makes. Jake is a recipe developer and New York Times-bestselling cookbook author who throws lavish dinner parties. According to Benny, Jake “makes the best challah I’ve ever had” (a sentiment that Selena also shares). So, I hope Jake is ready to cater this foodie wedding!

Wedding planning can certainly be stressful, and it seems like Selena and Benny are taking their time to enjoy the process. As a frequent—and very fun—wedding guest, I think the food is one of the most important parts. It speaks so much to who the couple is, and it’s a great starting point for any celebration. Let’s just hope that they don’t go the same route as Stanley Tucci and deprive their guests of cake!

Margot Robbie will forever be synonymous with Barbie. She was the shiny plastic star of 2023’s mega-blockbuster film Barbie alongside Ryan Gosling, and together they created a pop culture phenomenon. Her next project is another big film: Emerald Fennell’s upcoming adaptation of Wuthering HeightsShe’ll play Catherine, and fellow Aussie Jacob Elordi will play Heathcliff.

When she isn’t bringing her acting chops to the silver screen, she’s running a gin company. Yes, you read that correctly! She and husband Tom Ackerley and a handful of friends created Papa Salt Gin, inspired by the botanical profile of her native Australia. As a gin lover, this immediately grabbed my attention. I wondered what Margot Robbie’s favorite cocktail could be, and now that I know, I simply must try it!

What is Margot Robbie’s favorite cocktail?

It sounds delicious and has a super cute name: It’s a Papa Salt and Pepper. She uses Papa Salt gin and soda water, then garnishes it with an orange rind and a crack of black pepper. It’s simple, and sounds absolutely delightful.

I know that gin is a divisive spirit, but I love it. In my experience, the best gin cocktails are the ones that really let the unique flavor profile shine through. Gins are distinct, and should be celebrated for it! The key is to use a really high quality gin, and although I haven’t had a chance to sample it yet myself, Papa Salt seems to hit that mark. It won the Platinum Medal for Best Gin in the 2022 L.A. Spirit Awards, after all.

The combination of gin and soda lets the gin’s flavors shine through, and a twist of orange and a crack of pepper are the perfect way to highlight the botanicals that make gin so delicious. Given that it’s an Australian-based spirit, it makes sense that I can picture myself sipping this cocktail on a sunny, sandy beach. The Papa Salt and Pepper feels like a perfect way to welcome the warmer months—no plane ticket to Australia required!

Ina Garten Eats This Whenever She Has a Bad Day https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/ina-garten-favorite-comfort-recipe/ Thu, 22 May 2025 00:32:18 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2145567 The Barefoot Contessa has a favorite comfort meal.

The post Ina Garten Eats This Whenever She Has a Bad Day appeared first on Taste Recipes.

Ina Garten is truly a gift. From her trusted holiday menus and personal favorites to her calming presence on Barefoot Contessa and in social media videos, she has always been there for us. She’s the one who reassures us that “store-bought is fine,” and marvels when something comes together quickly with an enthusiastic “How easy is that?”

I recently listened to Ina Garten’s memoir, Be Ready When The Luck Happens, and it was a phenomenally enjoyable experience. Hearing her narrate her own life story and guiding philosophy is so soothing. I think it’s probably one of my favorite celebrity memoirs!

If there’s one thing Ina knows, it’s how to make people feel comfortable. And if I was having a bad day, I bet she’d whip up this ultimate comfort meal for me.

What is Ina Garten’s favorite comfort food?

A great thing about Ina is that she shares her favorite recipes freely. We know her favorite dessert (French apple tart), her favorite side dish (farro salad), and we even know her preferred knife brand. So when she was asked what her go-to comfort meal was on an episode of TODAY, she had her answer ready. “I love butternut squash and apple soup,” she said. Apparently, it was a best-selling meal at her brick-and-mortar Barefoot Contessa store in the Hamptons. Butternut squash soup is absolutely elite, and I’m glad Ina Garten thinks so too.

According to Ina, what really makes this soup sing is the addition of apple cider vinegar and curry powder. The apple cider vinegar is added in at the end, once you’ve removed the soup from heat. You can add as much or as little as you’d like to bring the soup to life with its sweet apple flavor. And the curry powder, of course, adds great warmth and depth of flavor.

I’m definitely tucking this recipe away for my next rainy day. I think it will pair nicely with crusty bread and a glass of wine, but you could go all-out and pair it with the best ever grilled cheese sandwich or even butternut squash mac and cheese. However you enjoy it, make sure it’s with re-runs of Barefoot Contessa!

Ree Drummond Just Shared Her Recipe for ‘Graduation Cookies’ https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/pioneer-woman-graduation-cookies/ https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/pioneer-woman-graduation-cookies/#respond Fri, 16 May 2025 21:56:00 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2144418 Of course the Pioneer Woman would have the perfect dessert idea for your next graduation party.

The post Ree Drummond Just Shared Her Recipe for ‘Graduation Cookies’ appeared first on Taste Recipes.

Putting a graduation party together is about as stressful as event planning can get. You’ve got the decorations to pick out, party foods to prepare and the guest list to manage. Oh, and all of this is happening while you’re in your feelings about the fact that your kid is somehow old enough to be heading out into the world on their own. It can all be incredibly overwhelming.

Nothing seems to phase Food Network icon Ree Drummond, though. It comes as no surprise that she has come up with the perfectly homey, low-lift dessert idea for your graduate’s big event.

What are ‘graduation cookies?’

Ree revealed her recipe for what she calls her graduation cookies in a recent Instagram post. This treat couldn’t be simpler or more heartfelt—and it’s much more memorable (and almost certainly tastier) than the standard sugar cookie shellacked in fondant to look like a graduation cap.

To make Ree’s graduation cookies, simply follow your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. When it comes time to add the chocolate chips, add your graduate’s favorite cereal and candy instead. In Ree’s example, she appears to add mini Reese’s peanut butter cups, Cap’n Crunch cereal, pretzels and M&M’s to the dough before giving it one final mixing and putting it in the oven.

Once baked and cooled off, top the cookies with chocolate or vanilla frosting—whichever your graduating guest of honor prefers!—and sprinkle some more of your cereal and candy mixture on top.

Sure, it might be a little messy, but that’s how it’s done on the ranch! If I could turn back the clock some 15 years to my last graduation, I can see myself loving this, though I’m not sure how my favorite cereal (Frosted Flakes) and candy (Raisinets) would mix together. Maybe I’ll stick with Ree’s example instead.

Bradley Cooper’s Favorite Meal Is One of His Grandmother’s Recipes https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/bradley-cooper-grandma-cheesecake/ Fri, 16 May 2025 19:54:55 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2142044 Talk about a grandma's boy!

The post Bradley Cooper’s Favorite Meal Is One of His Grandmother’s Recipes appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Bradley Cooper wears a lot of hats, and he looks great in all of them. He’s a Philadelphia Eagles super fan, he’s involved in various charities that help families impacted by cancer and, of course, a very talented actor. His screen credits are vast and varied; die-hard Sex and the City fans know his very first TV role was on the show.

I’d be surprised if you haven’t caught him in a movie over the last two decades. From Silver Linings Playbook to A Star Is Born, he’s got a whopping 12 Oscar nominations to his name. Personally, I think his best performance was lending his voice to Rocket in Guardians of the Galaxy, but we can compare notes another time.

It was during press for his movie Burnt that he revealed something very touching. Apparently, his grandma has served as a big source of inspiration in his life.

What is Bradley Cooper’s favorite meal?

“What would you eat as your last meal on Earth?” is the question he was asked during an interview with People. His response? “My grandmother’s cheesecake.”

It’s not just the cheesecake that stood out to Bradley. Apparently, he has a ton of memories of his grandmother making pasta as well. She inspired a lot of his approach while filming Burnt. “My grandmother always had flour caked in her engagement ring,” he said. That detail was woven into a conversation in the movie.

It’s clear that Bradley Cooper takes acting, cooking and his family seriously. I love hearing men praise the culinary talents of the women around them. Ryan Gosling has had nothing but amazing things to say about one of his mother-in-law’s recipes, which he describes as “angels crying on your tongue.” So, if you’re a Hollywood heartthrob who wants to become even more swoon-worthy, I highly recommend talking about how much you love your mother’s recipes!

Princess Diana Loved This Hack For Extra Crispy Potatoes https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/princess-diana-favorite-potato-recipe/ Fri, 16 May 2025 19:03:20 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2140752 People who like their spuds with extra crunch are going to want to try this immediately.

]]>
Princess Diana remains the epitome of style and elegance decades after her death. But even as a member of the British royal family, she loved a lot of simple, no-fuss recipes. Her favorite dessert is just a spin on bread pudding, after all. Meanwhile, her son Prince William couldn’t get enough of banana-flavored treats—I wonder if royal chef Darren McGrady ever whipped up a banana bread pudding!

Chef Darren worked at Buckingham Palace for years before becoming Princess Diana’s personal chef after her divorce from Prince Charles. He was the one in charge of making the Queen’s decadent chocolate birthday cake, as well as the aforementioned banana desserts that Prince William loved.

But when he wasn’t making desserts, he was keeping an array of delicious savory dishes on the menu for Diana. One of them is a trick for crispy potatoes that I have never heard of before.

What was the hack for crispy potatoes that Princess Diana loved?

In a video for Delish, Chef Darren outlined the way Princess Diana requested her potatoes be prepared. “Take some potatoes, toss them in egg whites and also a little paprika,” he said. The trick is then to dry bake the spuds rather than tossing them in oil or any other kind of fat. The combination of the egg whites and the dry heat of the oven would make the skins extra crispy.

I would love to try a recipe that Princess Diana loved, but unfortunately I’m allergic to eggs. While this one is a no for me, you should definitely give it a try and see how the potatoes crisp up. I’ll just stick to roasting my potatoes in olive oil, and dedicating my next stuffed bell pepper night to Diana!

I Tried Paul Hollywood’s Focaccia Recipe, and I Gave It a Handshake https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/paul-hollywood-focaccia-recipe/ https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/paul-hollywood-focaccia-recipe/#respond Fri, 16 May 2025 17:46:26 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2142663 Does Paul Hollywood's focaccia deserve a handshake? I tried it to find out.

The post I Tried Paul Hollywood’s Focaccia Recipe, and I Gave It a Handshake appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
I don’t mean to brag, but I’m a Great British Bake Off superfan. I’ve seen every episode and baked through many of the challenges. I even ran a fantasy league with my friends for last year’s season. So when I stumbled upon Paul Hollywood’s focaccia recipe, I knew I had to give it a try and see if it would live up to the hype.

True to form, Paul’s recipe features exact instructions for ingredients in metric measurements for more precision. You’ll need a kitchen scale to measure accurately, but the small kitchen tool is worth it. Paul also specifies exact times for kneading and proofing the dough, which makes for easy baking. Unlike a technical challenge, his recipe leaves no room for guesswork.

How to Make Paul Hollywood’s Focaccia

Ingredients

 • 500 grams strong white bread flour
 • 8 grams fine salt
 • 10 grams instant dried yeast
 • 30 milliliters olive oil, plus extra for oiling
 • 370 milliliters water
 • 75 grams pitted Kalamata black olives
 • 1 small red onion
 • 10 cherry tomatoes
 • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
 • About 150 milliliters olive oil, to drizzle
 • Flaky sea salt

Directions

Step 1: Mix the dough

First, mix the base dough. Unlike some bread recipes I’ve made before, where the yeast has to “wake up” in warm water, this recipe calls for combining all of the dough ingredients (flour, salt, yeast, olive oil and water) together at once until they’re mixed well. From there, jump right into kneading, either by hand or with a bread hook in an electric mixer.

Step 2: Let the dough rise

Next, transfer the dough back to an oiled bowl and leave it to rise in a warm place for two hours or until it has roughly doubled in size. My kitchen doesn’t get a lot of sun, so I find it’s best to use the proofing setting on my oven. Make sure the dough is covered in cloth or storage wrap, or sealed in a proofing bag.

Step 3: Transfer it to the pan for a second rise

Once the first rise is complete, the dough should have doubled in size. It will feel light and airy—just right for the texture of focaccia. Grease the pan you’re using for baking, and carefully tip the dough in, spreading it into a rectangle as best you can. Cover or seal it again, and leave it for another 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Step 4: Garnish and bake

Once the final rise is complete, preheat your oven and garnish the focaccia. Try to evenly distribute the tomato, red onion and olives, then top it off with a seasoning of dried oregano. Drizzle the focaccia with more oil, then bake it until it’s golden brown.

Paul Hollywood Focaccia Review

I think we all know by now that Paul Hollywood knows bread. He is, after all, the king of Bread Week! This recipe proved that to me all over again. It’s hard to make a good focaccia in a short amount of time, and I’m often disappointed with recipes that try to shorten the process. Paul Hollywood’s focaccia, though, was the exception: it baked up in just a few hours with the ultimate airy, soft texture.

I loved how simple it was to mix everything together at the same time, and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t negatively affect the final product. I love an easy recipe that doesn’t cut corners on taste, and this one fit the bill perfectly. If you’re looking to experiment with other focaccia recipes, try our classic focaccia recipe, which features honey and an artistic design. You could also make any of these into focaccia sandwiches!

How to Store Focaccia

Because of the delicious crunch that the olive oil produces, it’s best to store focaccia wrapped in foil. Avoid plastic wraps, which can trap moisture with the bread and leave you with the infamous soggy crust. To reheat focaccia, put it in the oven in the foil, and it’ll crisp right up.

Molly Baz Wants to Make Sure Your Next Sourdough Loaf Isn’t ‘Flat as a Pancake’ https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/molly-baz-sourdough-bread/ Fri, 09 May 2025 08:43:46 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2141242 Expert tips from an expert chef.

The post Molly Baz Wants to Make Sure Your Next Sourdough Loaf Isn’t ‘Flat as a Pancake’ appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Molly Baz is a source of pure joy on my Instagram feed. The cook, recipe developer and New York Times-bestselling cookbook author first came into my life via the Bon Appétit YouTube channel. She’s since moved on from BA and is now doing her own thing: publishing cookbooks, hosting a podcast and teaching us how to make sourdough.

She’s also developed a brand-new recipe to celebrate her foray into the world of sourdough baking. It’s Sourdough Garlic Butter Bread, and yes, I’m drooling.

I had a chance to catch up with Molly and chat all things sourdough. I’ll admit that I have always been too intimidated to try to make my own loaf! But after our conversation, I feel ready to tackle this task head-on.

How did Molly get into baking sourdough?

“The first loaf I ever made was dismal. Flat as a pancake. But you know what? It still tasted good,” Molly said. “The first few loaves were learning experiences.” It’s helpful to know that even someone as accomplished as Molly—the author of two NYT-bestselling cookbooks—also struggles with overcoming sourdough mountain.

For the uninitiated, baking sourdough is more complicated than a standard homemade loaf of bread. Sourdough requires a “starter,” which is a mixture of flour and water that ferments and gives loaves that uniquely tangy, utterly delicious taste. “A friend gifted me a bit of her very old and storied sourdough starter. It sort of spun out from there, and the next thing I knew, I was proofing multiple breads on the daily in my home kitchen,” says Molly.

What are Molly’s tips for making perfect sourdough bread?

Aside from having the correct bread-making tools, here are some techniques straight from Molly to improve the outcome of your loaves:

 • Always bake with an active starter: Your starter should double in size within 6 to 8 hours after feeding, or it won’t be strong enough to produce lofty loaves. Using starter that is very much alive will ensure tender, well-risen bread.
 • Refrigerate your dough for stronger flavor: You can opt for a longer fermentation, transferring your dough to the refrigerator and baking the next day. The best time to stop and chill your dough is after shaping your loaf. The next day, pick up where you left off, letting the dough sit on the counter for an hour or two before proceeding.
 • A good ratio for feeding your sourdough starter is 1:1:1: That is, equal parts flour, water and starter. You can perform small feedings of your starter (about 30 grams of each element) when you’re not baking to keep your starter “at the ready.”
 • Don’t forget about the windowpane test: This is the best way to tell whether or not dough has had a sufficient number of folds and stretches. To do this, flatten a small piece of dough between your fingers. Gently pull on opposite ends to stretch out the middle. Dough that doesn’t tear easily—and appears as translucent as a windowpane—indicates strong gluten formation.
 • Keep things tense: Create surface tension while shaping the dough so your bread will have the right structure, crumb and rise. You can achieve this by using less flour while shaping—too much flour will encourage the dough to slide around. Less flour means that you’ll have some friction on the work surface to help pull the dough taut.
 • Cover dough to proof: Molly uses Stasher’s Stretch Lids, which are reusable silicone lids that stretch to cover any size bowl. Instead of trying to wrestle with plastic wrap while your hands are full of flour, just pop one of these on, and poof! You’re on your way to prooftown.

I asked Molly if she had any more advice for me before I get started on my sourdough journey. “Take the pressure off!” she said. “Your first loaf isn’t going to be perfect, and that’s completely fine.”

It’s almost like she knew that I’m a recovering perfectionist. Well, with Molly Baz’s blessing, I’m certainly feeling more inspired to dive into the world of sourdough!

Quinta Brunson’s Go-To Comfort Food Costs Less Than $2 https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/quinta-brunson-comfort-food/ Fri, 09 May 2025 08:19:26 +0000 https://www.tasteofhome.com/?p=2141628 A relatable queen!

The post Quinta Brunson’s Go-To Comfort Food Costs Less Than $2 appeared first on Taste Recipes.

]]>
Quinta Brunson is booked and busy. You probably know her best as the creator, executive producer, writer and star of the hit TV show, Abbott Elementary. She’s also fresh off hosting Saturday Night Live for the second time and absolutely slaying the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala.

I imagine that wearing so many hats on the set of Abbott can get stressful. When I get stressed, I absolutely reach for the foods that will wrap me in a giant hug and let me decompress a bit. So when I found out that Quinta has the same comfort food as I do, I got excited. Especially because it’s only $1.59 at Target!

What is Quinta Brunson’s go-to comfort food?

In an interview with The Strategist, Quinta lists nine things she can’t live without. Like any writer, she said her MacBook Air is always in her bag. And of the three food items that make the list, one of them stands out: Annie’s Shells & White Cheddar macaroni and cheese. “It’s the best comfort food after a long day of filming,” she says.

Apparently, Quinta’s partner was the one who introduced her to the life-changing product during the pandemic. “I was so confused as to why he would be this excited about this specific brand of mac and cheese,” she said. “But…it’s so good. It’s so easy and quick to make, and filling and just, I don’t know. It’s so warm. We’ll curl up on the couch with a bowl of it.”

Shout out to Quinta’s partner for showing her the light. The Shells & White Cheddar variation has a special place in my heart as well. It’s obviously perfect straight out of the box, but it’s also a great blank canvas if you need a quick dinner idea. My favorite mac and cheese add-ins are frozen peas and some canned tuna for a deliciously easy spin on tuna noodle casserole. Quinta, if you’re reading this, give it a try!
