Take these unfrosted chocolate chip brownies to work, school or on a picnic. You'll love the crunchy, chocolatey topping and the intense chocolate taste.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup vanilla or white chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture just until blended (do not overmix).
- Pour batter into 2 greased 9-in. square baking pans. Sprinkle with chips and nuts. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes. Cool.
