Ingredients
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons canned crabmeat, drained, flaked and cartilage removed
- 2 teaspoons chopped green onion
- 6 wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying
- Sweet-and-sour sauce, optional
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, crab and onion. Place 1 rounded teaspoon filling in center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten wrapper edges with water. Fold in half lengthwise away from you, forming a rectangle; press firmly to seal.
- Keeping filling in the center, moisten bottom left corner of rectangle with water. Curve wonton rectangle toward you, bringing bottom right corner over bottom left corner; press firmly to seal (a finished wonton resembles a nurse's hat).
- In a deep cast-iron or electric skillet, heat 1 in. oil to 375°. Fry wontons on each side until golden brown, 1-2 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm, with sauce if desired.
