Garlic Toast Recipe

This garlic toast recipe lets you make garlic bread with plain slices of sandwich bread if you don't have thick loaves of Italian bread on hand. It's super-fast, and you can have it ready to eat within just a few minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 12 slices bread
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Chopped fresh parsley, optional

Directions

  1. Spread butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. Cut each slice in half; place plain side down on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese. Broil 4 in. from the heat until lightly browned, 1-2 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.
