Tomato Sandwiches

Don't let tomato season pass you by without trying classic southern tomato sandwiches. You'll need just three ingredients: white bread, a spread of mayonnaise and ripe tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole plum tomatoes, sliced 1/2-in. thick
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices white bread

Directions

  1. Season tomato slices with salt and pepper; set aside.
  2. Spread mayonnaise on each slice of bread. Add tomato slices to half of the slices of bread. Top with the remaining slices of bread to close sandwiches. Serve immediately.
