Rugs are difficult to clean. At least, that’s how it usually is—unless you’re shopping the Ruggable sale.

Taste Recipes Shopping Editors can’t get enough of Ruggable. We’ve reviewed their washable rugs extensively, and they even came out on top when we tested for the best kitchen rugs. Cleaning them is unbelievably easy: simply pull the top portion of the rug off of the bottom pad and toss it in the washing machine. As a bonus, these rugs can also go in the dryer—stain removal doesn’t get easier than that.

Now through February 18, customers enjoy 15% off rugs sitewide during the brand’s Presidents Day sale. Select styles are even more discounted at 20% off. Just use code “STARS” at checkout to enjoy the savings! These discounts also extend to the newly released spring collection, so now is the time to start prepping for warmer weather. Here’s what to look for during the 2025 Ruggable sale.

Ruggable Indoor Area Rugs

Ruggable offers machine-washable rugs that are much easier to maintain, increasing their durability and lifespan.

The Ruggable sale is our favorite time to stock up on new home decor. We’ve tested a variety of Ruggable’s classic area rugs, and they consistently impress. Between the lower pad and removable top, this two-part rug is machine-washable and -dryable. The pad is made of a nonslip, latex-free material—think yoga mat—while the rug cover is stain- and water-resistant, low-pile, lightweight and designed to fit inside your washing machine.

You can also spring for one of their premium options, which offers a thicker material and slightly higher pile for added comfort. Bonus: There’s dozens of patterns, colors and sizes to choose from.

Ruggable Outdoor Area Rugs

Similar to Ruggable’s indoor carpets, the machine-washable Ruggable outdoor rugs consist of two pieces: the decorative rug cover and the nonslip rug pad.

Ruggable offers a fleet of outdoor-rated rugs in addition to its indoor offerings, which are perfect for patios or sunrooms. In her Ruggable outdoor rug review, Editor Annamarie Higley notes that, due to the flat polyester weave, the rugs are super easy to sweep—a critical trait for an outdoor rug that gathers leaves, seedlings, twigs, etc.

Luckily, she found it equally simple to clean, even after enduring a full summer of treading feet. “I really don’t have one bad thing to say about Ruggable,” she says. “The two-piece rug system is ingenious. The pad makes the rug feel more luxurious beneath your feet, all while ensuring the rug—and you—don’t slip.”

Ruggable Kitchen Rugs

Available in a variety of sizes, Ruggable rugs make excellent runners and kitchen rugs—especially since they're so easy to clean.

Those looking for the best washable kitchen rug, your search has ended! We tested a Ruggable kitchen rug in our Prep Kitchen, and Executive Culinary Director Sarah Farmer used it for several days. Overall, her review of the rug was positive.

“I enjoyed standing on the mat during tasks like washing and drying dishes at the sink, prepping at my kitchen island and cooking on the stovetop,” says Sarah. “The mat offered a decent amount of cushioning, providing a soft and supportive base. I found it enhanced my overall comfort, particularly because my kitchen floor is ceramic tile, which tends to be cold and hard.”

Ruggable Bath Mats

Most traditional bath mats get too water-logged and heavy in the wash, potentially damaging your machine. The two-piece Ruggable system solves this problem once and for all.

We love a good bath mat here at Taste Recipes—especially one that’s easy to clean. In our Ruggable bath mat review, Annamarie was highly impressed with the rug’s absorbency and non-slip nature.

“Ruggable rugs have a lot of style, great grip, washability and absorbency, plus the pad is very supportive. Nothing on our list really compares,” says Annamarie. “Additionally, the rug has a gradual incline around the perimeter, mitigating some risk of tripping. The rug adheres well to my tile, so it stays in place. The graphic design of the rug looks so cute with my other chenille bath mat and pulls together my collection of hodge-podge towels.”

Ruggable Doormats

Yes—our favorite washable rug brand also makes easy-to-clean mats for the porch and entryway.

Greet guests to a gorgeous pattern or pretty picture with a Ruggable doormat. In our Ruggable doormat review, Senior Editor Katie Bandurski sings the praises of these easy-to-maintain doormats.

“The doormat still utilizes a two-part system that attaches with hook-and-loop tape, but it trades a thin pad for a thick, sturdy rubber base,” she explains. “A series of holes help water drain through to the ground or floor, reducing buildup and mildew. (A must-have if you’ve ever brushed off snowy boots!) Plus, the base has a textured tread that keeps the mat in place—AKA no slipping or rogue wind gusts carrying the mat away.”

Ruggable Runners

Thinner Ruggable runners are best for high-traffic areas that require a lot of durability.

Looking to add a little zhuzh to your boring hallways? Grab a Ruggable runner! These two-part rugs boast the same cushy underlayer as their larger sisters, but in a slimmer style that’s ideal for small spaces.

In our Ruggable runner review, Katie writes, “Right away, I was impressed by how the runner immediately improved the comfort and aesthetic of the hallway. What was previously a ho-hum wood floor in desperate need of refinishing was now a cushy, tropical oasis. The color and pattern are beautifully vibrant. Plus, the tufted cushioning really feels nice on the feet as we traipse from one end of the upstairs to the other.”

FAQ

How often do Ruggable rugs go on sale?

While Ruggable rugs are gorgeous (I’m looking at you, Iris Apfel’s Birds of a Feather rug), they’re costly due to designer collaborations and premium materials used in the weaving process. Ruggable’s big sales normally occur on major shopping holidays like Black Friday and Presidents Day, so right now is the best time to shop.

What is the difference between Ruggable classic and premium?

Ruggable classic rugs—also called their “flatwoven” rugs—have a slightly lower pile height, while their premium rugs with tufted covers boast a higher pile and plusher feel. Additionally, the premium options are over three times thicker at 7mm thick and boast a softer texture. We recommend using these in bedrooms, playrooms and living rooms, while the flatwoven options are excellent for dining rooms and offices with rolling chairs.

Can you really wash an 8×10 Ruggable?

It depends. According to Ruggable’s washing guide, all of their flatwoven 8×10 selections fit into most standard washing machines larger than 2.2 cubic feet. This includes machines with and without an agitator. However, if you opt for plush or tufted rugs, you’re going to need an extra-large 5.5 cubic foot machine.
