This was delicious. I wasn't sure about the bacon because it's not traditional with CCB, but 3\/4 is not enough for it to overpower the more delicate flavors. It added good flavor to the dish. I made a few changes: I cooked 3 cups of penne pasta. I used 1 and 1\/2 blocks of cream cheese and 1 heaping teaspoon of chopped garlic as it was melting. I also used 1 cup half & half and 1 cup of whipping cream, and 2 cups of swiss cheese to make it more moist (I read some reviews that it was dry). I did include the onion powder and garlic salt called for in the recipe. The amount called for is very minimal. To also combat dryness, I mixed it all up together in the pot that held the sauce before placing it in the casserole dish. I was afraid if I poured the sauce over the top it would seep down through the entire dish and it would be dry. I added the meats to the sauce first, and then added the pasta at little at a time until I thought the consistency was right. I used most of the pasta...very little unused. I also added 2 quick splashes of half and half as I mixed it in to make sure it remained moist. Pasta absorbs a lot of sauce in any dish. It came out perfectly moist and creamy. It was a big hit. The only other suggestion I have is to be sure you well-season the chicken breasts before cooking them. That greatly enhances the flavor of the dish. Very good, but very rich. Next time I will use 1 cup ckn broth & 1 cup half & half, real onions and garlic. Possibly add mushrooms and green peppers. Also will use crushed ritz instead of bread crumbs. I'd been wavering about trying this dish as the calory count was just so high. So, I nixed the bacon and crumb topping, used just 4 oz of cream cheese and took the Swiss cheese down to 1 cup. I also saut\u00e9ed 1\/2 cup of diced onion & a couple of cloves of garlic, finely minced, instead of using dried. I also added a tsp each of dried marjoram & parsley to the sauce and let it simmer a bit to soften. This was a huge hit with the whole family and will be going into our monthly rotation for sure.
