Why does everyone put dressing in their taco salads? If you go to a Mexican restaurant, they don't put dressing in their taco salads. This is pretty close to the recipe I use except no sugar, plain tortilla chips and Ranch Style pinto beans rather than kidney beans.....it's a Texas thing. Due to family members with food allergies, I do not mix or dress the salad. I set it up as a salad bar , and everyone makes their own. I also serve sour cream and avocado along with the salsa and dressing. One benefit of not dressing the salad is that leftovers are just as good as when the salad was originally served.
