I made these for a cookout and got rave reviews. Based on the other reviews, I reduced the butter in the bottom layer to 3\/4 cup, which gave me a batter with a the right consistency for pressing it into the pan. I wonder if the recipe was transcribed wrong and 1 cup was supposed to be the total for the whole recipe, not just for that layer. I baked it for 15 minutes and that worked well. I sprayed my pan with cooking spray, lined it with parchment paper, then sprayed again before adding the batter and it was a breeze to get out of the pan. O. M. G. I have never tasted anything so good! These take quite awhile to make with the cooling times, but they are so worth it. As with other reviewers, I too think maybe the bottom crust needs less butter, I ended up baking mine for about 25 minutes and it set up just fine. It does come out sort of like a cake bottom, but once it cooled completely it was more the consistency of a harder brownie and worked out fine. Just adjust the baking time and it should be fine or maybe just use a little less butter. <\/p>

The combination of the sweet and the salty from the pretzels make this bar over the top. <\/p>

Give it a try, you won't regret it.
