When tailgates, potlucks and Super Bowl parties are afoot, no-fuss appetizers and easy-to-serve handhelds are a must to feed the masses. Enter chicken parm sliders. These thickly layered sliders are the ideal Super Bowl party food, and you need just a handful of premade ingredients to make them.

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prepare the chicken tenders according to the package directions. Meanwhile, without separating the rolls, cut the Hawaiian roll loaf horizontally in half. Arrange the roll bottoms in a greased 13×9-inch baking dish.

Place eight cheese slices over the roll bottoms, overlapping the slices as needed. Bake the rolls until the cheese is melted, three to five minutes.

Editor’s Tip: Don’t turn the oven off after this step! You’ll be baking again in just a bit.

Spoon half of the marinara sauce over the rolls, using the back of the spoon to spread the sauce evenly to all corners and sides. Layer the chicken tenders on top, then evenly spread with the remaining marinara sauce. Add the remaining six cheese slices. Replace the top halves of the rolls.

In a small bowl, microwave the butter, garlic powder and crushed red pepper flakes, covered, on high, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the rolls. Sprinkle the tops with Parmesan.

Editor’s Tip: You can also melt the butter mixture in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly.

Bake the rolls, uncovered, until they’re golden brown and heated through, 20 to 25 minutes. Sprinkle the sliders with basil. If desired, pour extra marinara sauce into a small serving bowl, and serve alongside the sliders for dipping.

To store any leftovers, let the chicken parm sliders cool completely to room temperature. Place the sliders in an airtight container, and store in the fridge for up to three days.

The best rolls for slider recipes are sweet, fluffy and buttery Hawaiian rolls. Since they’re individual buns but still connected, they’re easy to assemble en masse and cut up when it’s time to serve. Dinner rolls also work!

If your sliders are browning too quickly in the oven, tent the baking dish with foil. This discourages browning but still lets everything cook up.

This is a great recipe that can be altered to suit your tastes. I didn't have a 13" x 9" dish so I used a smaller one. Consequently, I adjusted the amount of sauce, chicken, rolls, cheese, etc. to make this dish. It was easy to do. I took the advice of two other posters--use thick sauce and watch the roll tops because they might burn (solved by putting a piece of tin foil on top). I will definitely make this again.

@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2022-03-01
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Mary994
This was such a hit! Made an account literally just to be able to leave a review! The Hawaiian rolls and chicken tenders(we used nuggets) was brilliant and so easy! Great flavor! Will for sure be making again.
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2021-09-19
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Peapod0114
This was so good! There's no way 24 ounces of chicken tenders are going to fit on 12 sweet rolls without flattening them, and if you use 24 ounces of marinara sauce you'll have a soggy mess. Same goes for the butter on top - half a cup with all that garlic and red pepper flakes will overpower everything else. I ended up backing down most of the ingredients considerably - 16 ounces of chicken tenders, 12 ounces of marinara, 1/4 cup of butter, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. I also sprinkled enough Parmesan on top to give it a good dusting, but nowhere near 1/4 cup's worth. Also, the baking process and time is fouled up. I would suggest cooking the chicken first, assembling the sliders, and then putting them into the oven for 10 minutes just to heat everything up and lightly toast the tops of the rolls. If you cook the rolls longer than that, the tops will become so badly burned they'll be inedible.
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2022-08-09
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Jaa932
20 minutes @ 375 resulted in very burned rolls. I really like this recipe, but I made some changes based on some of the comments. I laid out the first six slices of cheese to cover the bottom, and then with the other two, I tore them in pieces to cover any gaps between slices. This created a barrier so that the sauce would not make the rolls soggy. When saucing, I used less sauce as well. I spooned it on until it was lightly coating the cheese. I would say just put the amount on that looks good to you. I did the same for the sauce on top of the chicken. For the topping, I used a basting brush to apply it. Since the chicken is already cooked, I only baked it for about 15 to 17 minutes and the rolls came out perfect. They were not messy, aside for some crumbs. These have become a part of our dinner rotation.

@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2025-02-22
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
tammycookblogsbooks

Delicious. Brushing the rolls with butter and adding a lot of spices made these sing. The buns darkened pretty fast on top, so next time I'll cover them with foil after 5 mins. I didn’t like these at all. Talk about a big mess. It was like eating a bowl of spaghetti with your fingers. Way, way too much Marinara, and butter.
