I used a different crust (because I'm not a fan of vanilla wafers) and baked the bars in a 9x9 inch square pan instead of a 9x13. I did not reduce the filling amounts. I did add the zest of the key limes in addition to the juice, and I would definitely do that again. The bars came out super lime-y, and it made a nice contrast to the cream cheese layer. Because I made my bars in a smaller pan, I had to increase my bake time to 35 minutes. All-in-all, these were a delight to make and eat. I love this recipe and have made it over and over. I process the pecans in my small processor seprately and my waffers in my large processer, then blend everything together and then add the butter cut in small bits.
