This viral mimosa hack is guaranteed to impress.

I Tried This Viral Trick for Perfect Mimosas, and I’ll Never Make Them Another Way Again

The mimosa is a two-ingredient wonder that’s nearly a prerequisite for brunch. The perfect mimosa looks different to everyone, though—we all have our preferences when it’s time to decide on the orange juice to sparkling wine ratio.
If, like me, you’re a fan of champagne-forward mimosas, @socialsami‘s viral mimosa hack needs to be on your radar.
What is the mimosa hack?
Instead of pouring OJ into a flute and topping it with a good champagne, we’ll freeze the orange juice with a few orange slices. The orange juice ice cubes keep your mimosa beautifully chilled while allowing the OJ to gradually melt into the sparkling wine for a more subtle citrus taste. Orange slices boost and brighten this effervescent drink’s zesty orange flavor, and the combo is so pretty!
@socialsami The PERFECT HOLIDAY MIMOSA Always wanted to make these orange “roses” and its so simple and in my opinion, as it melts, is the perfect amount of orange juice. They also keep your drink cold the whole time! Would you try them? To try this at home, halve an orange, then cut each half into slices. Nestle three slices into the well of a large ice cube tray, one on each side, then pop one in the middle to form a rose. Gorgeous, right?
Bigger ice cubes mean a slower melting rate to keep your drink chilled while steadily infusing the sparkling wine with orange juice. Grab a carton of OJ or squeeze it fresh. Fill each well with orange juice, then stick the tray in the freezer. Once frozen, drop an ice cube into a coupe glass and top with bubbles.
Is this mimosa hack worth the effort?
Absolutely! It’s absurdly easy and looks stunning. The only downside is the time it takes to freeze the orange juice (about four to five hours for the bigger cubes), so prep them a day or two ahead of time. Using a large ice cube tray means the orange juice ice cubes should last you for at least two cocktails. These mimosas were made for bridal shower brunches, holiday breakfasts or any occasion that demands something a little festive.
If you’re willing to go the extra mile, I highly, highly recommend juicing clementines or tangerines, which have a sweeter, riper profile compared to oranges. Blood oranges are another fabulous variation, especially when you need a drink pairing for Christmas brunch.
I also tested this mimosa hack with tropical fruit juice, which was a total home run. And since it’s nearly strawberry season, strawberry mimosas are next on my to-try list, but you can bet I’ll play around with seasonal flavor combinations all year long.
