Trader Joe’s Sells Timothée Chalamet’s Go-To Snack—and We’re Obsessed

The next generation of stars is upon us, and Timothée Chalamet seems to be close to the top. He’s a superstar in our midst with blockbusters like Dune, Call Me By Your Name and his latest, A Complete Unknown. Let’s not forget his iconic SNL skits, either. He’s truly become a household name.
With all that hard work, though, he’s hungry late at night.
During his promotion of Wonka, Chalamet answered the age-old question, “What’s your favorite midnight snack?” His answer, while wildly different from his fellow actors, reminds us that celebs are normal people, too. And they love Trader Joe’s snacks as much as the rest of us.
What is Timothée’s go-to Trader Joe’s snack?
Trader Joe’s consistently knows how to serve a good snack, like its Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and the tasty Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter. And we can’t forget the incredible macarons, my personal favorite when it comes to midnight snacks. Coconut and fig have got me in an absolute chokehold.
But I digress. Timothée’s go-to snack is called Tarte D’Alsace. This French-inspired flatbread is topped with creme fraiche, ham, caramelized onions and Gruyere cheese. While definitely not your typical midnight snack, we appreciate a man with refined taste. Besides, it can’t be that much different from my Triscuits with ham and melted Swiss, right?

The ham, onions and Gruyere cheese give the flatbread a nice heft. Not too greasy, not too heavy and absolutely perfect for a quick bite before taking a well-deserved snooze. Chalamet has dual citizenship in both the States and France, and with his father being from France, I trust Timothée knows his way around puff pastries and tarts of all kinds. I guess I’ll just have to try it for myself!
