Chicken bacon ranch sliders are welcome on any table, no matter the occasion. The buttery sweetness of Hawaiian rolls, smoky bacon, zesty ranch and tender chicken combine to create one of my favorite irresistible appetizers.

With just a few easy steps, these anytime sliders can make a splash on game day or for potlucks or neighborhood barbecues. (If my cousin doesn’t make these sliders for every family get-together, the complaints are loud—and not just from the kids!) This mini sandwich recipe stands out as one of the best among our slider recipes, and it will quickly become one of your faves.

Ingredients for Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders

  • Hawaiian sweet rolls: These soft and fluffy rolls, known for their touch of sweetness, are perfect for sliders. Since they come in packs of 12, it’s a snap to make a dozen quick-bite sandwiches all at once. You can even bake Hawaiian dinner rolls at home if you have some extra time.
  • Chicken: Any cooked chicken will do, but this bacon chicken ranch sliders recipe is a fabulous way to revamp leftover rotisserie chicken—some grocers offer it already taken off the bone, making this recipe even more effortless. Canned chicken also works in a pinch. Or, you can use sliced deli turkey to layer with the other ingredients.
  • Bacon: Crumbled bacon adds a smoky flavor and an essential little crunch of texture. There are several ways to cook bacon, but I like the baking method. Avoid these bacon mistakes at all costs.
  • Ranch salad dressing: Creamy and herby, ranch dressing helps bind the chicken and bacon filling together and lends a distinctive flavor. Use your favorite brand or an easy homemade ranch dressing.
  • Colby-Monterey Jack cheese: Baked sliders require a good melting cheese. Mild Monterey Jack and sharp Colby cheese are excellent matches for the savory elements of the chicken and bacon. If you can’t find the two-in-one flavor, use slices of each.
  • Butter: Melted butter tops the rolls for a fantastic, flavorful finish.
  • Chives and garlic powder: A little bit of seasoning goes a long way, and these flavorful ingredients, combined with the butter, are a tasty topper for these chicken bacon ranch sliders. Dried or fresh chives? Dried chives pack the most flavor, but fresh chives add a pop of color.
  • Parmesan cheese: Deliciously salty and cheesy, grated Parmesan balances the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls perfectly.

Directions

Step 1: Prep the rolls

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Without separating the rolls, cut them in half horizontally, and then arrange the roll bottoms in a greased 13×9-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Build the inner layers

In a large bowl, combine the chicken, bacon and ranch dressing. Spoon the mixture over the roll bottoms, and top the chicken mixture with cheese slices, overlapping as needed. Replace the top halves of the rolls.

Step 3: Top the rolls

In a small bowl, combine the butter, chives and garlic powder, and brush it over the top of the rolls. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Step 4: Bake your sliders

Cover the sliders with foil and bake until the cheese melts, 25 to 27 minutes. Remove the foil and bake until the tops are golden brown, five to seven minutes.

Chicken Bacon Ranch Slider Variations

  • Add some zip: A little Dijon mustard mixed into your shredded chicken adds some zip. You could even try making your own Dijon mustard.
  • Switch up the rolls: The Hawaiian dinner roll folks also make a pretzel version. The pretzel rolls are a lovely balance of sweet and salty, which pairs perfectly with this filling. You can also make these with hoagie rolls and hamburger or hot dog buns.
  • Use holiday leftovers: This recipe is an excellent way to use leftover roast turkey or sugar-glazed ham.
  • Try another dressing: For a twist, mix the chicken and bacon with tangy Caesar dressing or creamy peppercorn dressing.

How to Store Chicken Bacon Ranch Sliders

Store leftover bacon chicken ranch sliders in an airtight container for up to four days. To reheat, pop them in the air fryer or oven for a quick crisping, and enjoy.

How do you keep chicken bacon ranch sliders from getting soggy?

To prevent your bacon chicken ranch sliders from getting too soggy, add a layer of cheese to the bottom half of the rolls before spreading them with the chicken mixture. As the cheese melts, it will act as a barrier to the saucy spread.

What else can you serve with chicken bacon ranch sliders?

Chicken bacon ranch sliders pair nicely with many other awesome appetizer recipes. I love serving them with potato chips and one of our best dip recipes, like baked onion dip. On any game day table, I also try to include something green, such as my go-to crunchy and delicious not-just-for-company green salad, and something sweet, like a fruit and cheese board.
