We love Olive Garden for the soup, salad and breadsticks, but what about dessert? Learn how to make chocolate lasagna, one of Olive Garden's signature decadent desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages fudge brownie mix (8-inch square pan size)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • CREAM CHEESE FILLING:
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 8 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • GANACHE:
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • GARNISH:
  • Chocolate shavings

Directions

  1. Line the bottoms of 2 greased 8x8-in. baking pans with parchment; grease paper. In 2 separate bowls, prepare brownie mixes according to package directions, adding 1 additional egg to each. Pour into prepared pans. Bake according to package directions. Cool completely in pans on wire racks. Remove from pans; remove paper.
  2. For filling, in a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy, 4-5 minutes. Beat in vanilla. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until blended. Gradually beat in whipping cream until light and fluffy.
  3. Using a long serrated knife, cut each brownie horizontally in half. Place 1 layer on a serving plate. Spread one-fourth of the filling over the first layer. Repeat 3 times. Refrigerate while making ganache.
  4. For ganache, place chocolate in a small bowl. In a small saucepan, bring cream just to a boil. Pour over chocolate; stir with a whisk until smooth. Cool slightly, stirring occasionally. Drizzle over top of chocolate lasagna. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Refrigerate until serving.

No one will guess this decadent dessert started with brownie mix. With cream cheese filling, ganache and chocolate shavings, it looks impressive but is easy to make. —Molly Allen, Ellensburg, Washington
