Hold off on wrapping your Christmas presents for now. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has shared a recall from Stanley<\/a> that affects its popular travel mugs. This recall will come as a shock to superfans who use the tumblers for everything from hot coffee to hot cocoa.<\/p>\r\n

Here\u2019s what you need to know about the Stanley recall.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Why is Stanley recalling its tumblers?<\/h2>\r\nThe tumblers themselves are safe\u2014but the lids can shrink when exposed to heat, like hot coffee or tea, and then torque, causing the lids to detach during use. This poses a dangerous and very real burn hazard. Stanley has already received 91 reports about the travel mugs\u2019 lids detaching during use, resulting in 38 burn injuries.\r\n

What Stanley cups have been recalled?<\/h2>\r\nThis recall is only for\u00a0Switchback and Trigger Action travel mugs.\r\n\r\nThe recalled Stanley mugs were sold in a variety of colors and sizes, including 12 ounces, 16 ounces and 20 ounces. Each of the recalled travel mugs includes a polypropylene lid. The Stanley logo appears on the front and bottom of the mug.\r\n\r\nThis recall does\u00a0not\u00a0<\/em>affect any models of the popular Quencher tumbler<\/a>. That Stanley cup is still safe to use.\r\n
