I used 4 Easter hot cross buns from Safeway bakery that were a few days old. The only few different things I did was a little drizzle of melted butter (like previous reviewer), vanilla, raisins, pinch of allspice, small splash of half & half to batter. I let sit on counter an hour to make sure bread absorbed batter. I poured into a small loaf pan & it was done in 40. Broiled 2 mins to get crusty top. I used leftover homemade sourdough bread minus the hard crusts and leftover eggnog in place of milk. Left out the sugar because of that sub. I added vanilla extract because I love it! and kept spices same. I also forgot to butter the bread so drizzled 1 tablespoon of meted over the top as another poster suggested.
