They were crispy on the outside with a very unappealing texture on the inside and over-all lack of flavor. If I make this again (highly unlikely), I will keep the roux but drastically reduce the amount of evaporated milk. The roux & evaporated milk is actually a good idea to bind the patty together, but using a full cup of evaporated milk is just way too much. I would probably add more filler in the form of chopped celery. This recipe could also use something more than just salt and pepper.","reviewRating":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Rating","ratingValue":2,"worstRating":1,"bestRating":5}},{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Review","datePublished":"2022-03-04","author":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Person","name":"Corinne512"},"reviewBody":"I would add less evaporated milk, more tuna. They are easy to make and the chilling time lets me make them early and then put them on the griddle just before dinner. I served them with mashed potatoes and a salad, but I think that having them on a burger bun with the extras would be good also. A nice tartar sauce would make a tasty go-with too. Definitely a keeper! And economical as well.","reviewRating":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Rating","ratingValue":5,"worstRating":1,"bestRating":5}},{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Review","datePublished":"2021-03-01","author":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Person","name":"NancyH"},"reviewBody":"Made these for dinner tonight. They were tasty, but next time I will cut in half the butter\/flour\/milk mixture. I thought it was too much filling for the tuna and overpowered the taste somewhat. Otherwise, a good patty. Also, directions should include DRAINING the tuna.","reviewRating":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Rating","ratingValue":4,"worstRating":1,"bestRating":5}},{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Review","datePublished":"2021-04-13","author":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Person","name":"RedBoomerang"},"reviewBody":"I was surprised at how well these came out. I added minced sweet bell peppers, cilantro, and mushrooms because i was trying to get rid of them. I also used canned chicken instead of tuna because i wanted to switch things around. these came out great. I messed up by adding to much oil to fry. So i'd like to mention that you should only use just enough to coat the bottom of the pan you are frying in. to correct my error, i scooped them out and pu tthem in the oven. But all in all i will be adding these to the regular dinner cycle. I made these last night and making again tonight to freeze. we ate it with brussel sprouts, and box spanish rice. I can totally see these being eaten on a bun though., too.","reviewRating":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Rating","ratingValue":5,"worstRating":1,"bestRating":5}},{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Review","datePublished":"2021-02-20","author":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Person","name":"BlueMustache"},"reviewBody":"So I did make these last night for dinner. They are very tasty. I didn't have evaporated milk so I used 1\/2 n 1\/2, worked fine. I also added a couple of ingredients which really kicked them up. I added about a teaspoon of pepper flakes and about a dozen chopped green olives. Also I increased the green onion from 1 to 3. Oh and the one thing I should have done was drain the tuna. It was too wet when trying to make the patties. Otherwise it's a yummy and we have 2 left over so they will be put into sandwiches!","reviewRating":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Rating","ratingValue":4,"worstRating":1,"bestRating":5}}]},"video":{"title":"Comforting Tuna Patties","description":"Check out this video for how to make Comforting Tuna Patties","url":"http:\/\/content.jwplatform.com\/videos\/44kV5Drt-IFfy1PC6.mp4","duration":"1m13s","mime_type":"video\/mp4","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/dam-cdn.tmb.orangelogic.com\/AssetLink\/stpt0751oly5ibh4474f0olt5v8ti67j.jpg","advertising":"","jw_id":"44kV5Drt","jw_url":"http:\/\/content.jwplatform.com\/videos\/44kV5Drt-IFfy1PC6.mp4","jw_thmub_url":"http:\/\/content.jwplatform.com\/v2\/media\/44kV5Drt\/poster.jpg?width=720","jw_publish_date":"2023-02-03T00:00:00"},"rms_legacy_id":"243811","romance_copy_dek":"My grandmother and mother made these tuna patties on Fridays during Lent.
