5 stars if using fresh broccoli. I made this several times. Just really easy and really good. IMO, no need to cook the fresh broccoli before mixing it in. I add the whole 4 oz jar of diced pimientos. When a recipe calls for a bread crumb topping, I always use crushed cornflakes with butter. This last time I had leftover rice, so I added it. I think noodles on the side is a great idea. TOH has a recipe for Amish Buttered Noodles that is fantastic. This recipe might be great with fresh asparagus - again, I would not precook before adding it to the other ingredients. This is it!! Thank you so so so much! My grandma made something similar when I was growing up. She\u2019s been dead 30 years and no one had her recipes (she didn\u2019t write many down. And if she did, it had some great directions like \u201cadd some BR until it\u2019s right\u201d. What??) I have been missing this greatly. Sometimes she would add rice to it. Sometimes pasta.
