I have been making this recipe for years using ground lamb and adding some dill to the sauce. I don't do the burgers, just cook the meat in a pan and crumble it up well, using Greek seasoning if I have it. Once made this will save well for days to make a quick and tasty lunch or dinner. The meat mixture also freezes well for individual portions. I didn't have any plain yogurt on hand so I used sour cream, which was a bit too rich for this recipe. I think the yogurt would have been better. But, it was delicious anyway, and I will make it again using the yogurt. <\/p>

Great, easy recipe for a hot summer's day. I made the sauce and assembled the burgers in the morning. Pan fried the burgers (I have no grill and did not want to heat up the oven) and added the tomatoes and onion just before serving.
