This report is almost like what a German patient gave to me awhile ago. Although the beef used is 1\/8 in thick sirloin steak, grey poupon mustard spread on first, bacon to fit each slice, grated onions (I just finely chop), then thin slice of dill pickle, roll up, fry. After this step I put in a glass baking dish, add the beef broth, cover with foil, bake at 300 for 30 minutes. I remember my German grandmother making this and it has been passed down since. She didn't and no one else has put the pickle in it. We brown both sides of the steak before adding the other ingredients. We always use horseradish mustard when we make it. With a strip put down the middle of the beef, then the onion and cut up bacon pieces before rolling up.<\/p>

We put them in a pressure cooker with the rest of the bacon and onions with extra mustard on top of the rolled up steak. Added water and beef bouillon(I use beef broth). We served it with egg and flour dumplings, with the gravy from the steak on top. This was just the way I remembered. Whole family liked the flavor though some didn't eat the pickle. The gravy was very easy. I just added a little milk to thin it out.
