While caring for my mother at end of life my sister-in-law shared this recipe with me. I wrote it down, but lost it. Doing a search I discovered this recipe and it is very similar. She got it from a farmer's wife, so I know this is the recipe, without the corn. I was served a version with corn, and I like that very much. This has become one of my favorite casseroles. I encourage everyone to try it.
