I'm a sucker for white soups. I didn't have turkey, and probably won't buy any this year, so I used rotisserie chicken. I also forgot to add the turkey gravy (which I went and bought specifically for this; I was so mad at myself for forgetting to add it!!). \n\nWith that being said, I followed the recipe closely, because I like to try the original before making my own tweaks. Everything came together really nicely. I like the consistency and the flavors. I tasted it after it was done and decided to add about a tablespoon of garlic powder (what can I say - I love me some garlic), about a teaspoon of paprika, a teaspoon of salt (which is extremely rare for me to do, as I really hate salt), and about 15 turns of fresh cracked black pepper. The dish was good as it was originally, but it was a little too bland for me. You could probably get away with adding a teaspoon of cayenne or chili powder in here for some extra zest. I may do that next time.\n\nI like this recipe because what you add to it really doesn't matter. Add any vegetable you want and it'd still be good. \n\nAs a side note for those who might be curious: you could absolutely make this with low-fat dairy\/soup. It'd probably come out really similar to the original.\n\nMost incredibly, this got my husband, who hates soups, to actually try it and like it! Score! This one's going in my books.","reviewRating":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Rating","ratingValue":5,"worstRating":1,"bestRating":5}},{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Review","datePublished":"2022-11-22","author":{"@context":"http:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"Person","name":"GreenDucky"},"reviewBody":"

Especially for this rainy day\" This is delicious. I did not have turkey, but I had several leftover chicken breasts from last nights dinner. So, I used chicken gravy instead of turkey. I also had a 1\/2 cup of ham from a quiche I made 2 days ago. I added that in here as well. I make my own chicken stock, without the added salt. Very delicious. I added ham chunks instead of bacon, cooking the veggies in olive oil.
