I've been using this recipe for over six years now and I can't believe I haven't added a comment - it is perfect! I make several most every holiday season to give to neighbours and to serve with our Boxing Day dinner. The steps are fairly easy and the taste is divine! The hardest part is the same as any log cake: rolling it, letting it cool, unrolling it and then rolling it back up with the filling. I usually end up with some small cracks that are easily hidden inside the cake, or covered with the frosting - today is the first time it all just fell apart and couldn't roll it. Weirdly humid day today and rainy so I think that didn't help. Oh well, like Ronald below I just made parfaits! The flavour is just wonderful and everyone always is super impressed especially if you make some meringue mushrooms to decorate with powdered sugar and rosemary springs on a wooden board.
