This three-ingredient, no-bake Oreo balls recipe is as easy as can be. To make Oreo balls, you’ll need a package of Oreo cookies, a package of cream cheese and some chocolate melting wafers. That’s it! You’ll become the star of your next party without breaking a sweat, or firing up the oven.

Place the cookies in the bowl of a food processor with the steel blade attached. Process until fine crumbs form.

Editor’s Tip: No food processor? No problem. Place the cookies in a resealable zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin or another heavy object.

Place the cookie crumbs in the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment. Add the softened cream cheese and beat them together on medium speed until thoroughly combined.

Editor’s Tip: If you don’t have a stand mixer, place the crumbs and softened cream cheese in a large bowl and stir them together with a rubber spatula.

Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form 1-inch balls. Set the balls on your parchment-lined baking sheet.

Place the baking sheet in the freezer and chill the Oreo balls for at least 20 minutes.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to melt the chocolate wafers.

Rest an Oreo ball on a fork and use the fork to dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate. Lift the Oreo ball back up with the fork (without piercing it) and tap the fork on the bowl to remove any excess chocolate from the Oreo ball. Set the Oreo ball back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Immediately decorate each chocolate-coated ball with sprinkles, Oreo crumbs or other edible decorations of your choice.

Editor’s Tip: I usually like to dip two to three balls and then sprinkle on the decorations so it’s not so tedious.

Transfer the Oreo balls to an airtight container, separating the layers with parchment. Store them in the refrigerator.

Editor’s Tip: Let the chocolate set completely before serving or packing the balls for storage. Otherwise, the unhardened chocolate may transfer from the Oreo balls to your hands. It’s worth the wait!

Oreo balls can be tucked away in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. We like to place a piece of parchment or waxed paper in between each stacked layer to keep the Oreo balls from smudging or denting. They’re great chilled, but if you prefer the Oreo balls at room temperature, let them sit on the counter for 15 to 20 minutes.

Yes, you can freeze Oreo balls. They can be stored in the freezer for up to four months. Just be sure to store them in an airtight freezer-safe container and let them thaw in the fridge overnight or on the counter for one hour.

The key to successful dipping is making sure your chocolate is the right consistency. As soon as the melted chocolate begins to thicken, microwave it for 20 seconds to thin it.

Make sure you have all your ingredients close at hand—including your decorations. Set a ball on a fork, and gently roll it around in the melted chocolate to coat it. Scoop the ball back onto the fork, and tap the fork against the side of the dipping bowl to remove any excess chocolate.

Dip and decorate each ball one at a time, especially if you are using sprinkles, as the chocolate can set quickly. If you plan to decorate with more chocolate, let the first coat set before drizzling with additional melted chocolate.

If you don’t have chocolate melting wafers on hand, you can certainly use the best chocolate chips for our Oreo ball recipe instead. Just be sure to add 1 teaspoon coconut oil or canola oil when melting the chocolate chips down to help the coating reach the right consistency. Melting chocolate (especially in the microwave) can be tricky, so make sure you know how to melt chocolate properly.

There are a few reasons why your Oreo ball recipe may be falling apart. If it’s happening after the balls are dipped in the chocolate, your melted chocolate is too hot and is warming up the filling. Let the melted chocolate stand for one to two minutes before dipping in another Oreo ball.

If your Oreo balls are losing their shape before even touching the melted chocolate, your kitchen might be a bit too hot and the uncoated Oreo balls are losing their shape. Put the Oreo balls back in the freezer for an additional 5 to 10 minutes so they can firm up again.

Our Oreo balls recipe creates a decadent no-bake
