I’ve always loved cornbread, but since discovering this cornbread casserole recipe, I haven’t looked back. This dish takes your favorite cornbread<\/a>\u00a0to the next level with the addition of cream-style corn and whole corn kernels.<\/p>\n Combining the cream-style corn with the cornbread mix, an egg and butter creates a fluffy, cakelike texture. This is one of my favorite quick and easy side dishes<\/a>, especially since it requires just one bowl and one minute of mixing before baking in the oven. And, as easy as it is, cornbread casserole goes beyond the weeknight dinner plan. Serve it during any holiday feast when you need a filling, comforting dish that will feed more than a handful of people.<\/p>\n Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. In a large bowl, whisk all the ingredients together.<\/p>\n Grease an 11×7-inch baking dish and pour the batter into the dish. Bake, uncovered, at 400\u00b0 until the top and edges are golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes.<\/p>\n Editor’s Tip:<\/em> Use a rubber spatula to get all the batter out of the bowl and then to even out the top in the baking dish.<\/p>\n The best way to store cornbread casserole is in the fridge, either wrapped in storage wrap or topped with a lid. It will stay fresh for up to four days, but we usually finish it long before then.<\/p>\n If you want to make this ahead and freeze it, cornbread casserole makes a great snack or meal for a busy day. Let it cool down completely, then freeze it whole or in individual pieces wrapped tightly in storage wrap.<\/p>\n Reheat cornbread casserole in the microwave or in the oven at 375\u00b0 until it’s bubbling at the sides and heated through. If it’s frozen, let it thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating it.<\/p>\n Cornbread casserole in a slow cooker is totally possible and a great way to save oven space if you’re making this dish for a holiday meal. Simply combine all the ingredients, pour the batter into the slow cooker and cook for two to three hours until the casserole is set all the way through.<\/p>\n This dish is a great side for holidays or potlucks, whether it’s served with your favorite Thanksgiving turkey recipes<\/a> or with some tasty Christmas side dishes<\/a>. But thankfully a holiday isn’t needed to enjoy this cornbread casserole recipe.
