There’s something so nostalgic about fudge. As a kid, I loved fudge shops. You could watch the candymakers create huge batches of fudge on the marble countertop, then walk away with a heavy bag filled with thick slabs of tasty treats. Thankfully, you don’t need a fudge shop to enjoy this delicious dessert. Our recipe for peanut butter fudge with marshmallow creme takes only five ingredients and about 15 minutes of prep time.

Fudge is one of our favorite kid-friendly recipes for kitchen time with your little ones. It’s also super adaptable, with an array of topping ideas. Enjoy this easy fluffernutter fudge at home (it will disappear fast), or make it a holiday food gift idea for loved ones.

Line an 8-inch square pan with foil. Grease the pan thoroughly with butter, including all the edges and corners where the fudge could stick.

In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for three minutes while continuing to stir constantly. Remove from heat immediately so it doesn’t continue to cook.

Stir in the peanut butter and marshmallow creme, and mix well until fully blended.

Immediately spread into the prepared pan, using a rubber spatula to even out the top. Allow to cool slightly in the pan.

Refrigerate the fudge until it’s firm. Using the foil lining, lift the fudge out of the pan in one piece. Remove the foil from the fudge.

If desired, drizzle the top with melted white chocolate, and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.

Cut into squares. Store your fudge between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container.

Thankfully, fudge lasts quite a while, even at room temperature! Store cut fudge layered with parchment or waxed paper in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. If it becomes excessively hard or gooey, it’s past its prime.

To freeze this fudge, layer it with waxed paper, and store it in the freezer in an airtight container. It will last for up to three months in the freezer.

For this easy peanut butter fudge with marshmallow creme, we recommend using commercial peanut butter. It’s smoother than natural peanut butter, and it doesn’t separate like natural peanut butter.

If your fudge doesn’t set correctly, it probably didn’t get hot enough when you cooked the sugar and milk. See these common fudge mistakes to help make the best batch possible.

If your fudge is crumbly, you may have overcooked the sugar, which would prevent the fudge from taking in enough water and result in a crumbly texture. It might take more than one try to get the perfect consistency, so follow the cooking times in the recipe.

With only five ingredients and 15 minutes of prep time, creamy peanut butter fudge with marshmallow creme is one of the easiest treats. I read previous reviews before trying this one. The problem with a lot of recipes is lack of details. Have your marshmallow creme jar open, and your peanut butter - I used Jif No Stir Natural Creamy Peanut Butter. already measured out. Prep your pan before you start. I line a 7"x10" glass pan lined with parchment. You must first bring the milk (I used evaporated milk) and sugar to a full boil - one that does not go away when stirred. I usually start with medium-high to get the boil going, then back off to medium once it's boiling. You must stir constantly. Begin your 3 minute timing once the mixture comes to a full boil. Take the pan off the heat! I immediately stirred in a tsp of vanilla. Now you've got to work quickly. Add your peanut butter and marshmallow creme. Stir with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. Pour into your prepared pan. Let it cool completely at room temperature. To cut it, just lift it our with the parchment paper and place it on your cutting surface. Cut into 1" squares because it's quite rich. LOVE this recipe! Plenty of peanut butter flavor for me.
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2019-01-19
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Appy_Girl
Super, easy, super creamy and so delicious. It was exactly like the peanut butter fudge they used to serve in the school kitchen when I was little. Soooooo good! At Debbie on Nov 3, 2018... The butter is used to grease the pan in step 1. At Susan11160 on Apr 24, 2018... Maybe you should give the recipe a try before giving it such a poor rating. The marshmallow fluff gives the fudge a soft, slightly fluffy texture and is not at all gross. I'm not fond of thick, dense, hard fudge. Peanut Butter Fudge Tips

How can you make this peanut butter fudge your own?
Using chunky peanut butter instead of creamy will add some tasty texture to peanut butter fudge, and so will stirring in 1/2 cup chopped peanuts or mini chocolate chips. White chocolate chips and candy sprinkles are another possible addition to make this fudge your own. A drizzle of chocolate will take your peanut butter fudge over the top!
Why did my peanut butter fudge turn out dry and crumbly?
Crumbly fudge is usually the result of overcooking, or cooking over heat that's too high. Cooking over medium heat will prevent the crumbles. Also, be sure to remove the pan from the heat before stirring in the peanut butter and marshmallow cream. This will prevent the ingredients from getting too hot, which can add to the formation of crystals in the fudge (which is what makes it dry and crumbly). And lastly, fudge sets up fast, so it’s important to stir your ingredients quickly after removing the pan from the burner. If you’re adding sprinkles or nuts to the top, add them right away to ensure they’ll stick. Here are more common fudge mistakes and how to fix them.
