Just made these for Thanksgiving as something different from the usual pies. This way, my nephew can take some back home to his bachelor apartment. I made them just a bit larger and got about 2-1\/2 dozen. I added zest and orange juice to the icing which amped up the flavor. I agree with a few others that there wasn\u2019t enough icing but I had both a plain and iced cookie, and both are good. I also toasted my walnuts for extra flavor. The cookie dough texture was good and baked wonderfully, the recipe worked as written. I used fresh cranberries, and perhaps I just bought a bad bag, but the tart\/bitter\/sourness of the cranberries was a shock in the cookies, which caused complaints from a few people. If I make these in the future, I think I will use dried cranberries or figure out a way to sweeten the fresh ones.
