While my old standby taco salad is good, I was looking for a recipe with a little more pizazz. The Catalina dressing is spicy sweet. The corn chips (not tortilla chips) were irresistible. I used half a pound of ground beef and proportioned the remaining ingredients accordingly. I reduced the suggested amount of dressing, but my salad was still moist and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that leftovers were good the next day. I added a handful of fresh chips, torn iceberg lettuce, a chopped avocado, sliced green onion, the remainder of the canned beans, and a little more dressing. My husband and I enjoyed this salad.
