This is an excellent recipe. Go ahead and get out your largest mixing bowl when beginning because this makes a lot! I used ingredients as directed but added an extra serving spoon of mayo and sour cream because I used Krusteez cornbread mix which was more than the 8.5 oz called for. I ended up not quite using all the baked cornbread. I did not layer this salad but mixed all the chopped and canned veggies into the sour cream\/mayo mixture and let sit overnight. I made everything the day before serving but did not mix in the cornbread thinking it would be too soggy. That was a mistake. I waited until about three hours before serving to mix in the cornbread and it didn't have enough time to absorb enough of the liquid. It was still good, but was much better the next morning. Having read other reviews I decided to try it hot. I placed the leftovers in a lightly greased baking dish for 30 minutes at 350F. Oh gosh, this is a superb casserole when baked!!! Next time I will add a second can of green chiles to the cornbread mix and a total of 5 medium tomatoes (or else 4 large tomatoes) to the salad mix.     I make this using the Buttery Cornbread recipe from Best of Potluck by TOH. I leave out the chili's and other seasonings and cut out just the amount called for in this recipe. I also added a can of black beans and I use 1 package thawed frozen corn instead of canned. This is good stuff! My kids and husband love it.
