Hearty, tasty and filling, cheesy ham and potato soup is the ideal meal on cold winter nights. This soup is also truly easy to make. Everything comes together quickly in two saucepans, so you’ll have dinner on the table in 30 minutes<\/a> or less. Just be prepared to not have leftovers\u2014because you’ll find that everyone adores cheesy potato and ham soup.<\/p>\n In a large saucepan, combine the potatoes, water, carrots and onion. Bring everything to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover and cook until tender, 10 to 15 minutes.<\/p>\n In another saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour until smooth. Gradually add in the milk, then the salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cook and stir until thickened (about two minutes).<\/p>\n Stir in the cheese until melted, then stir the combined mixture into the undrained potatoes and vegetables.<\/p>\n Add the ham and peas, heat through, then serve.<\/p>\n Store your cheesy ham and potato soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.<\/p>\n This soup will last about three days when stored properly.<\/p>\n Definitely.
