This recipe is a staple in our house, however, I've only stuck to directions once. Do not water down this soup. I use four cups of beef broth. Additionally I say skip the draining of the beef after browning. Why would you dump all that flavor? I suppose if your beef is super fatty you may want to drain, but I would use a leaner cut if that is the case.
