I followed a lot of the recommendations that other users noted, and my beef mixture had a can of (drained) Italian-flavoured tomatoes added alongside the onions as the beef cooked, and to flavour it, I used honey, basil, garlic salt, two dashes of allspice, and (for half of them) some curry powder. The results were amazing, but I WOULD strongly suggest that one be prepared for leftovers if only using one can of biscuits, and I would also VERY strongly suggest that the cooking time be lowered to about fourteen minutes - or at least, check for doneness then, because the bottoms of mine were QUITE dark after sixteen minutes. My family really enjoys these. We have made several times and will freeze extras for quick lunches later. The most time-consuming part is putting the filling in the dough and sealing. My family really liked the concept of these, and you really could add any type of filling and they would be great: bacon, eggs, and cheese, bbq pulled pork, philly cheesesteak, etc. Next time I make these, I probably won't use the Velveeta--I don't care much for the taste of it. I omitted the onion since my four year old is very picky about onions in his food. These are yummy and not that hard to make. Sometimes I omit the bacon and throw in some coleslaw mix as the beef finishes cooking. I really enjoyed the results of this recipe (in fact, I'm eating one right now!) and I would definitely make it again. Next time we are thinking of trying it with the pepperjack velveeta!

I think it would taste better if you used cheddar cheese instead of velveeta. It also needed more flavor, maybe chunks of tomato added in with the meat. It was like eating a plain cheeseburger with nothing on it.

I made this last week for my husband and kids. My kids are such picky eaters, and they loved it! It was simple to make and also quick. So tasty! I will make this again for sure.

I made this for a New Years eve. party and it went over very well. I felt like the filling needed extra seasoning like salt and pepper or maybe a tablespoon or two of steak sauce. Would definitely make this again.

Very yummy! I ended up with extra filling, but I just used it for the meat part of a breakfast sandwich, which was also yummy! The bacon was not crispy, but it flavored the beef as well to make it extra yummy. Also, I am not sure how to chop up raw bacon in a better way than I did, ended up pulling big strips out, oops! But that was more me than the recipe... Will definitely make again! P.S. I ate mine without the sauce, no idea how the sauce is.

Browse Taste Recipes recipes by course, cooking style, cuisine, ingredient, holiday and more categories to find a new family-favorite recipe.
Wondering what to make?
