I read the other reviews and increased the vanilla to 1 teaspoon and the cookies tasted delicious. Next time, I will roll the dough tighter because they did unroll a bit as they baked, which made them looked more like a piped cookie instead of a cut cookie. The cookies still had a beautiful swirl though, just not the precise swirl of a cut cookie. I think I should have chilled them for at least an hour on the second chill. I made these 12-24-23, I only made the checkerboards. They do not have much flavor even though I used very good chocolate.
