I usually stick to a new recipe exactly as written but due to what I had on hand and health reasons I omitted the salt and sugar, used maybe 2 T olive oil (no reason for it to swim in oil) and a tablespoon dried cilantro. Not a fan of peppers so used 1\/4 of a large red pepper. The red pepper taste did not overpower the salad so I added more the next day. This is a nice addition to my bean salad recipes and I actually like the red pepper in it for a change. Will be using this recipe a lot.
