While I have never seen this dish offered in an actual diner, it wouldn't be a bad idea for them to adopt it. Husband gave it 2 thumbs up! I brushed mustard lightly over the crust before filling it per the suggestion of a reviewer below. Lovely aroma while baking! Easily feeds a small-medium sized family for dinner with sides, and is just as good reheated as leftovers (which is unusual!). Tonight was the first time I tried this recipe, even though I've had it saved for quite some time. My husband and I both liked it a lot, and he's not crazy about quiche like I am. The only thing I did differently was to add onions and garlic at the end of browning the beef, cuz onions taste better when they are precooked. And you can never have too much garlic!!
