I made a variation of this last night and ate some for breakfast this morning. We had a TON of turkey sausage links leftover from our wedding brunch, so I sliced them into bite sized pieces as a substitute for the bulk sausage. I used Jiffy corn muffin mix and honeycrisp apples. It's SO good. I didn't even eat mine with the maple syrup because it was plenty sweet enough for me. I feel like this will be a staple for my cornbread-loving husband.
