This is a delicious cake, brimming with warm and spicy autumn flavours. Instead of adding water as directed, I subbed with cinnamon whisky instead...what a flavour boost that was! I served it with peeled and chopped Granny Smith apples that I saut\u00e9ed in butter until tender-crisp. Then I added them to a pot of freshly made caramel sauce to heat through. Ladled a generous amount over individual slices. My guests were literally moaning with every bite, and their comments were very complimentary. This has been a family favorite for several years. I\u2019m concerned that it says to use a regular size cake mix. All that is available here now is the 13.5 ounce mixes. I\u2019m sure when I started making this it was a larger box. Can you tell me what the recommended weight of the box should be? I can add in extra mix buy buying 2 boxes but I need to know what the weight should be. I made this cake to bring to a Pot Luck lunch. Everyone went nuts over it! It's DELICIOUS! I prepared it exactly as directed except I substituted walnuts for the pecans. I baked it in a Bundt pan till a toothpick came out clean, and it was amazing! So moist! I dusted it with powdered sugar and served with vanilla ice cream.<\/p>
