I read a comment that said too much flour taste. I cooked the flour longer in hopes to cook the taste out. I also deglazed the pot with dry sherry. However, I can still taste the flour at the end. I added mushrooms, umami seasoning, thyme, rosemary, sage, and smoked paprika. It turned out delicious, but I do agree that it had too much flour. You could thicken it with half the flour and maybe some cream cheese at the end or some leftover stuffing. I will try again.

@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2021-11-29
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Diane7063
Used turkey stock. Very delicious! and didn’t have to cook it all day like another recipe I was going to try. Sooo good! My daughter doesn't love soup but she liked this a lot. My husband rarely has seconds and he got seconds with this. The biggest change I made was to use unsweetened almond milk instead of half and half. You'd have no way of knowing, it was so good with milk. Thickened to a perfectly good texture. I also used a full box of Uncle Bens wild rice and frozen cut carrots. Not finely chopped, but size didn't affect the taste. I cut back on the butter to 5tbsp and added a little broth to make up for the lost liquid because the veggies got a little dry with only butter. I think mushrooms would be good here but my daughter doesn't like them. I can't wait to make this again. Will definitely share the recipe with my mom and mother in law. This would be so easy to freeze into individual portions.

@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2025-01-03
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Jackie3513

Thank you for the recipe! This was a great way to use up our Thanksgiving turkey! We love wild rice and we LOVED this soap. We froze the extra for another dinner down the road. If we use it for lunch, I plan on adding some broth to thin it out a bit as it might be a bit heavy for the midday meal. The only thing I would change is to add mushrooms. I didn't have any but would have loved it. Instead we added Trader Joes mushroom powder, a tablespoon of worchestershire and a quarter cup of flax seed--just to use it up. BUT, the flavor before any additions was perfect too!! Made and reviewed for my YouTube channel.

This is called Minnesota Wild Rice Soup and is used with chicken but the recipe is the same. You do not say how to cook the wild rice. In a large pot filled with water, add in wild rice and bring to a boil. Boil about a 2 oz. or 4 oz pkg of wild rice for about 40 min until each piece of rice bursts open like popcorn would. So many wild rice recipes show brown sticks of the rice. It is not cooked correctly until you boil it. Drain and add it to whatever your recipe is (like wild rice stuffing). Cooked wild rice has burst and is brown and white!

@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Rating
{"@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Review
2020-12-30
@context":"http://schema.org/","@type":"Person
Lisa
Used leftover turkey and stock from Christmas dinner.
