It seems Shake Shack adores nostalgic comfort food as much as I do, because the chain added a Banana Pudding Shake to its summer menu. Being the banana pudding connoisseur that I am, I absolutely had to have a taste.

What’s in the Banana Pudding Shake?

Like its namesake dessert, this shake consists of frozen banana pudding custard made with real bananas, hand-spun with vanilla wafer cookies. It’s topped with a cloud of whipped cream and a vanilla wafer crumble.

Shake Shack is known for having some of the best fast-food shakes, so my expectations were high as I walked in to order.

What does the Banana Pudding Shake taste like?

The Banana Pudding Shake delivers on the banana pudding taste. I was extremely impressed with the cookie-to-frozen custard ratio, and the consistency was absolutely dreamy. It was thick enough to make me work for it, but not so thick that I got annoyed.

My shake didn’t have any of the promised Nilla Wafer crumbles on top, probably because I went the day the menu dropped. Honestly, though? I didn’t miss that final touch.

The banana flavor itself was subtle but real. Sometimes milkshakes have a heavy, inauthentic taste that makes me want to gag. (Sorry, Shamrock Shake, I’m looking at you.) This shake, however, left the artificial banana taste at home and relied on the power of fresh bananas. I was absolutely floored with the overall combination and found myself sucking it down to nothing almost instantly.

As I climbed into my car to leave Shake Shack, I stared longingly at the menu from outside, wishing I had purchased another. I imagine I’ll be taking a trip again tomorrow. Darn you, Shake Shack!

How long will it be on the menu?

The Banana Pudding Shake will likely be gone by the end of summer. Shake Shack is also dropping two other nostalgia-heavy flavors: Oreo Cookie Funnel Cake and Campfire S’mores. While I am a banana pudding lover at heart, the Campfire S’mores shake was a close second for me.

Now don’t go puddin’ it off—grab these shakes before they’re gone!

What’s next on the King’s agenda? I heard whispers of a new drink coming for the hot summer months; whispers of a fruity, frozen concoction that could be topped with tiny, colorful Nerds. It’s the Frozen Strawberry drink, and I sped straight to the drive-thru for a taste.

What does the Frozen Strawberry drink taste like?

To begin, the drink is maddeningly sweet. I’d expect no less from this kind of beverage, though, and I imagine it will be such a sugary relief on hot summer days. The consistency is similar to the Icee I used to slurp at movie theaters as a kid—not so frozen that it won’t suck up through your straw, but just enough to make it thick so you let it melt on your tongue.

Honestly, the frozen strawberry drink hit like nostalgia. The syrup was strawberry to the umpteenth degree, and it reminded me of the Fla-vor-Ice tubes I used to crunch on when I was younger. Add the overdose of crunchy Nerds on top, and you’ve got an intensely saccharine experience.

Overall, it was tasty. I can only take so much sugar at a time, so this won’t be something I’ll order daily. However, the product delivers. It’s full of flavor with a unique texture combo that will likely find a foothold in many people’s fast-food agendas (especially the under-12 age group).

And I will say, it complements a Texas Double Whopper beautifully.

How long will the drink be at BK?

We asked Burger King how long the Frozen Strawberry drink would be on the menu and were told: “for a limited time!”

Not a conclusive answer, but we imagine it will stick around through the better part of summer. Next time you’re at the King, give it a try! The strawberry lover in you will be ecstatic.

McCrispy Strips are a brand-new upgrade to the McDonald’s chicken menu. I’ve been a fan of McNuggets since I can remember, so I’m a loyal proponent of expanding the chicken options. I was a diehard fan of the Snack Wrap and still remember the Buttermilk Crispy Tenders from years ago.

I’m not alone—the McDonald’s community loves crispy chicken. The Golden Arches heeded the call of its fans and decided to drop its juicy, dippable chicken strips!

McDonald’s McCrispy Strips are made with real chicken and coated with a crispy breading. The best part? To go with the strips, McDonald’s introduced a brand-new Creamy Chili Dip. This sauce will be spicy, sweet and tangy—perfect adjectives to bring out the best in the salty McCrispy Strips.

When can I get McCrispy Strips?

McDonald’s will officially roll out McCrispy Strips nationwide by May 5, 2025. You’ll be able to purchase them in 3- or 4-piece counts accompanied by one or two Creamy Chili Dip sauces. You can also switch out the Creamy Chili Dip for your regular McDonald’s sauces.

No rush, because McCrispy Strips are a permanent menu item—the first in over four years.

It’s all about the leaves on the pineapple’s crown. They’re the ticket to picking the perfect ripe pineapple. Simply grasp one of the center leaves and pull. If the leaf gives resistance and doesn’t pull out cleanly, the pineapple isn’t ready.

However, if the leaf comes clean after the tug, it’s time to eat!

Why does the “pineapple leaf test” work?

If the pineapple isn’t fully ripe, it’s going to retain some of that young toughness. Think of a slightly green banana; it’s not yet soft like the older, more yellow fruits. As a pineapple ripens, its flesh softens and allows the leaf to give. You can also tell by the color of the leaves themselves. Bright green leaves are often a solid indicator of a ripe and ready pineapple. However, if you find many brown and dry leaves, it’s possible the fruit is actually overripe.

Now that you’ve got the perfect method for picking a pineapple, it’s time to make some magic. Cut off the crown and roll your pineapple a few times to soften the outside. Then you should be able to pull each segment off the pineapple without wasting any fruit. If you don’t like the sensation of eating pineapple, soak the fruit in salt water to activate the bromelain before snacking. No more itches and tingles!

What is ‘Croissant Toast?’

In a press release, Panera says the croissant toast is “an all-butter, flaky croissant sliced bread.” The loaf is made entirely from croissant dough! Look at the beautiful flaky swirls on every slice! I expect every bite to be like eating a croissant but better because this variation is toasted.

If you wish you could eat croissants for brunch and lunch, Panera has you covered. The croissant toast will be part of two brand-new sandwiches:

• Croque Monsieur Croissant Toast: This one has Black Forest ham, melted provolone and Asiago, plus a Gruyere and caramelized onion spread. It looks like a tidier version of a French croque monsieur.
• Fromage Croissant Toast: Basically a French grilled cheese with melted provolone and American cheeses, caramelized onions, arugula and garlic aioli.

Knowing Panera prides itself on daily fresh-baked bread, we have a lot of faith in the chain’s new croissant toast. Only time will tell if it will officially knock the bread bowls off the top of my list.

How long will it be at Panera?

Croissant toast is available now at participating Panera locations nationwide as a part of the spring menu. Oh, and the Strawberry Poppyseed Salad and Mexican Street Corn Chowder are both back on the menu, too!

What is Timothée’s go-to Trader Joe’s snack?

Trader Joe’s consistently knows how to serve a good snack, like its Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups and the tasty Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter. And we can’t forget the incredible macarons, my personal favorite when it comes to midnight snacks. Coconut and fig have got me in an absolute chokehold.

But I digress. Timothée’s go-to snack is called Tarte D’Alsace. This French-inspired flatbread is topped with creme fraiche, ham, caramelized onions and Gruyere cheese. While definitely not your typical midnight snack, we appreciate a man with refined taste. Besides, it can’t be that much different from my Triscuits with ham and melted Swiss, right?

The ham, onions and Gruyere cheese give the flatbread a nice heft. Not too greasy, not too heavy and absolutely perfect for a quick bite before taking a well-deserved snooze. Chalamet has dual citizenship in both the States and France, and with his father being from France, I trust Timothée knows his way around puff pastries and tarts of all kinds. I guess I’ll just have to try it for myself!

Recently, we’ve heard whispers of a competitor on the scene. There’s another peanut butter and chocolate combo that’s coming for Reese’s top spot. It’s none other than Skippy with its new PB Bunnies, so I had to do a full candy comparison.

How do Skippy PB Bunnies compare to Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs?

To be completely, truly, absolutely honest—there’s really no competition. Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs drilled the Skippy PB Bunnies into the ground. As excited as I was to give Skippy the old college try, it lacked substance compared to its rival.

What we love about Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs is the ratio of peanut butter to chocolate. Sweet chocolate thinly coats the outside, containing everything in a neat package without overpowering the taste of the final product.

Some argue that each Reese’s shape contributes differently to its peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio, making certain shapes taste better than others. I personally think the Reese’s Egg is a thoroughly developed feat and a top Easter candy option. It hits the creamy, fluffy, sugary and chocolaty marks in just the right amounts.

So, what of the Skippy PB Bunnies? Let me start with this. Even though we’re close to Easter weekend, I had to search high and low at three different Walmart stores. (The Bunnies are currently only available at Walmart.) I finally got a hold of a lonely, out-of-place bag. It was $2 for a 1.05-ounce bag with three pieces, while Reese’s offers a 9.6-ounce package of its eggs for $4.48.

I overlooked the price in hopes of a phenomenal product. I was so disappointed that I had to abandon the bag, unfinished.

The Bunnies had a much harder chocolate on the outside with clear-cut details. Cute! Then I took one bite and tasted nothing but chocolate. I mean it. Shocked, I looked at the cross-section and found an empty shell of chocolate. Just a whisper of Skippy peanut butter sat inside. I was devastated. I couldn’t even taste the peanut butter, let alone see it!

I opened another Bunny to make sure, but no luck. The chocolate was not great and didn’t have the same flavor as the Reese’s. While Skippy has always been one of the best peanut butter brands, it missed the mark by a mile on this one. Stick with Reese’s this Easter, folks. You’ll thank me for it.

It feels like looking behind the curtain when we get a snapshot of a talented chef’s favorite everyday meals. Even big time chefs like to keep it simple every now and again, and that’s exactly how Bobby likes his eggs. He uses a secret ingredient, and it may sound a bit familiar.

Much like Gordon Ramsay’s scrambled eggs, Bobby Flay also incorporates creme fraiche—the fancy French cousin of sour cream—into his eggs! He gave us the insider scoop during a quickfire round of questions on his Instagram. This fluffy condiment is a cultured cream, similar to sour cream or yogurt, that is thick and highly versatile in cooking.

How does Bobby Flay make scrambled eggs?

Bobby Flay’s perfect scrambled eggs begin with 12 large eggs, 4 tablespoons of cold butter cut into small pieces, 4 tablespoons of creme fraiche, and salt and pepper. If you don’t have any, you can make creme fraiche at home by adding a bit of buttermilk to heavy whipping cream and letting it thicken for 8 to 24 hours.

Start by cracking the eggs into a large bowl and whisking until they’re frothy with a uniform color. Then strain the eggs through a mesh strainer and add the creme fraiche. Heat the butter in a large nonstick pan over medium-low heat until it’s melted. Slowly add the eggs and mix them gently using a heat-resistant rubber spatula until curds begin to form. Promptly remove the pan from the heat while eggs are still slightly wet, and allow the heat from the pan to continue cooking the eggs for another minute. Fold in optional add-ins like green onion or cheese as the eggs come off the heat. Serve up the eggs with a couple strips of your favorite bacon.

Did you know SweeTarts have been around since 1962? This old-school candy is a tabletized version of Pixy Stix. The colors and flavors have changed over the years, but the cuteness has been consistent. The Chicks, Ducks & Bunnies fit the Easter motif better than Reese’s Eggs, in my humble opinion. Even on an unseasonably warm Easter Sunday, SweeTarts won’t melt.

No kid will ever be disappointed opening a plastic egg to find this colorful candy inside. Neither would I—though to be fair, I buy bags of SweeTarts Chicks, Ducks & Bunnies for myself. I can’t resist the blue punch bunnies, lemon ducks and cherry chicks.

What Girl Scout Cookies will be turned into Pop-Tarts?

With all the incredible Girl Scout Cookie flavors, I imagine the Pop-Tarts boardroom was abundant with opinions about what should be chosen. It’s no surprise that the brand chose two of the most popular cookie flavors: Thin Mint and Samoas/Caramel deLites.

Here’s what we know about ’em:

• Pop-Tarts x Girl Scouts Thin Mints: This Pop-Tart has a cocoa-flavored pastry crust filled with sweet mint chocolate flavoring and a smooth chocolate frosted top. I imagine this Pop-Tart will mimic the legendary flavor of Thin Mints with ease. I recommend popping a pastry in the freezer for a few hours before chowing down.
• Pop-Tarts x Girl Scouts Coconut Caramel: This new experience features a filling made with toasted coconut, caramelized sugar and subtle chocolate flavor. It’s topped with a smooth blend of chocolate and caramel frosting and has that signature Pop-Tart swirl. This cookie doesn’t sport an official Girl Scout Cookie name since it’s both a Samoa and a Caramel deLite. Coconut and caramel are a legendary flavor combo, and I will be stocking my shelves with this one ASAP.

I secretly hoped for a peanut butter Pop-Tart, but my dream didn’t come true—at least not for this collab.

When do Girl Scout Pop-Tarts drop?

Both flavors are set to drop in April 2025 at participating retailers nationwide. While prices will vary by retailer, you can grab an 8-count box for approximately $3.89, a 16-count box for $4.98 or a 32-count box for $8.49 at select club stores (like Costco and Sam’s). It’s safe to say these will be a bonkers hit, so grab ’em before they’re out of season!

You know what we also love? Learning about what famous people cook at home. In an interview with WGN, Jack shared his cheeseburger mac and cheese, which we absolutely had to know more about.

It seems like Jack’s made a version of this recipe for more than 20 years. In 2003, he did an interview on the YouTube channel Cooking with Rockstars. He talked about how he makes his Kraft Mac & Cheese, saying, “I developed a thing where I’ll fry up some ground beef, throw that in with the mac and cheese.”

Sounds like this recipe is a Jack Black original.

What’s in Jack Black’s mac and cheese?

Think of this recipe as an upgraded version of Hamburger Helper, similar to our own version of cheeseburger macaroni. It’s a one-pot meal made with pantry staples plus ground beef, milk or cream and cheddar cheese. I think Jack is on to something here—it’s not comfort food unless the recipe is super simple!

Here’s the full list of ingredients for his cheeseburger mac and cheese:

• 1 pound lean ground beef
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 1 tablespoon paprika
• 1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
• 1-1/2 teaspoons onion powder
• 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
• 2 cups beef or chicken broth
• 1-1/2 cups heavy cream or whole milk
• 2 cups elbow macaroni or cavatappi pasta
• 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
• Parsley to garnish

You’ll want to use a Dutch oven or sturdy skillet for this recipe. Start by sauteing the ground beef over medium-high heat. Cook until the meat is no longer pink, then drain the fat. Sprinkle the cornstarch, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, sugar and pepper over the ground beef and stir well.

Then, add the broth, heavy cream and pasta. Stir the mixture and bring it to a boil. Cover with a lid, reduce the heat and let everything simmer for 15 minutes or until the pasta is al dente. Stir in the grated cheese until it’s completely melted.

Sprinkle with parsley to garnish, and you’re ready to eat dinner like Jack Black!

As an active Minecraft player, this makes my youthful heart so very, very happy. The new Happy Meal will include one of 12 different Blockhead or Blockworld toys from both the film and the game. That means cute little bees, explosive Creepers and fluffy sheep.

Better yet, for all my fellow older Minecraft fans out there, McDonald’s didn’t forget about us. Along with the Happy Meal is A Minecraft Movie Meal that will include one of six different collectibles created just for this meal. McDonald’s and Minecraft teamed up to reimagine iconic McDonald’s items as they would be in the Minecraft Overworld. Some of these include a Grimace Egg, a Big Mac Crystal and even what appears to be a Zombie Hamburglar. Incredible.

Aside from the return of the Shamrock Shake, I think this may be my favorite McDonald’s 2025 event so far.

When can I order the Minecraft meal?

A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal will drop on April 1, 2025, right before the movie’s release on April 4. The meals will only be available for a limited time while supplies last, so there’s no time to drag your little iron boots. Grab a bundle and collect ’em all before they disappear!

What does Gordon Ramsay eat for breakfast?

It’s not his ridiculously popular scrambled eggs. In an interview with AllRecipes, Gordon said he starts his day with a loaded bowl of oatmeal.

He’s training for an Ironman triathlon (a race that includes a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run), so he needs energy in the morning. Gordon’s rolled oats are rich in fiber and antioxidants and keep him full for a good long while.

Lately, oatmeal seems to be the breakfast of choice—both Kate Middleton and Willie Nelson have also said it’s their preferred morning meal. I also eat oatmeal for breakfast every day, so I’ll surely be on the road to stardom in no time.

How does he prep his oatmeal?

Gordon starts with jumbo rolled oats, which are slightly thicker than typical rolled oats. He then uses a mixture of milk and water to prepare his oatmeal. (To cut back on calories or avoid dairy, opt for plant-based milk or water.) To add flavor, Gordon reaches for allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon. You can start with a pinch of each spice and add more to taste.

He also adds dates to naturally sweeten his oatmeal, and according to the Cleveland Clinic, this dried fruit is a good source of fiber, magnesium and potassium.

Gord lets the oatmeal, dates and spices simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. He’s aiming for a creamy consistency. You can add different fruits while it cooks down, like apples or berries, for more flavor and natural sweetness. Once everything’s to his liking, Gordon serves a bowl of oatmeal and tops it off with a splash of milk. Time to officially add this to our list of oatmeal recipes!

The Filet-O-Fish is the original fast-food fish sandwich, and it’s a classic choice for people who want fast food during Lent.

What if we could make the Filet-O-Fish even better, though? I had to find out if there was a way. I found three Filet-O-Fish hacks and headed to McDonald’s on a blustery Friday night to test them out.

Request No Tartar Sauce

I’ve heard murmurings from people that ordering without tartar sauce would result in a freshly made sandwich. Hopping onto the Mickey D’s app, I selected the Filet-O-Fish and was able to easily customize my sandwich to ditch the wonky tartar sauce. I then drove to McDonald’s to collect my prize.

When I picked up the unassuming sandwich and took a bite, I was met with…disappointment. A Filet-O-Fish with no sauce isn’t the right fit for me. The combo of fish and bread was much too dry for my taste, and it was clearly lacking its most iconic element. While the flavor of the fish was definitely highlighted, the sandwich wasn’t noticeably fresher, and I wouldn’t order it again.

This viral hack appeared on a Reddit thread, where a user mentioned that the McDonald’s app allows you to make a Double Filet-O-Fish into a Triple Filet by adding an additional fillet for $1.10.

Let it be known that my app charged me $1.20 for an additional fillet. Nevertheless, I created the three-story behemoth. It was a whole ‘lotta fish. I could barely take a bite! The Reddit user claimed it was a better fish-to-bread ratio, and I have to agree. There was more tartar sauce, too. Overall, the sandwich was tasty with extra fish, but not worth the extra cost. Where I live in Chicago, a single Filet-O-Fish is $4.69, while a triple is $7.69.

Replace the Tartar Sauce with Big Mac Sauce

This last hack comes from TikTok user @chefmikeharacz, a former McDonald’s corporate chef. In one of his videos, he mentions that Big Mac sauce on a Filet-O-Fish is even better than tartar sauce. Color me curious! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to add this one to my McDonald’s app order because you can’t customize the Filet-O-Fish with Big Mac sauce, and you can’t order the sauce separately. When I got to McDonald’s to pick up my order, I just asked at the drive-thru for a Filet-O-Fish with Big Mac sauce instead of tartar sauce.

I took a bite of this sandwich and it was heavenly. Big Mac sauce is basically elevated tartar sauce, and it suits the Filet-O-Fish wonderfully. The subtle sweetness of the sauce was a fantastic complement to the fish.

What is the S’mOreo?

This mashup is the thing of dreams. It’s built like a classic Oreo—with some delicious tweaks. Instead of one layer of white creme, this s’mores Oreo has two layers, one marshmallow and one chocolate. The two flavored cremes are sandwiched between graham-flavored cookies.

Don’t tell me you don’t love kicking your feet up by a bonfire with friends while roasting some ‘mallows. It’s a divine feeling. This Oreo flavor is that feeling in cookie form!

Instagram snack expert @candyhunting says fans can expect a Pringles x Miller Lite Grilled Beer Brat flavor, too! This may be a blasphemous statement from a Chicago resident, but hot dogs were never really my thing. I’ll take a beer brat at the cookout any day.

Pringles described its Miller Lite Beer Can Chicken as having a “crispy, hoppy flavor and roasted chicken flavor.” I imagine the Miller Lite Grilled Beer Brat chips will have similar qualities. Here’s what I need to know: Will the Pringles taste more like brats or more like beer?

Pringles x Miller Lite Beer Can Chicken is expected to drop at retailers in May 2025. Pringles hasn’t confirmed the timing for the new flavor with us yet, so we can only assume the Miller Lite Grilled Beer Brat flavor will drop at the same time. While we’re still reeling over the return of Starbucks’ free refills, there’s been some different news hitting the coffee algorithm this week. It seems the chain has been trading its popular clear cold cups for opaque white compostable alternatives. The new cups are getting mixed reviews.

Why is this happening?

The switch is happening in a handful of stores in an effort to comply with local law mandates regarding commercial waste and pollution, according to USA Today. Starbucks even mentions the change on its website, stating, “In select markets, Starbucks provides more environmentally friendly compostable cups and lids.”

Deemed “commercially compostable cold cups,” these new white cups are fully opaque, much like the hot to-go cups. The difference is that these are made especially for cold drinks. Both the cup and the lid are completely white and made from a double-walled, fiber-based paper board with a bioplastic liner. Originally in 24 stores throughout California and Minnesota, they seem to be slowly spreading to more stores as time goes on.

Do people like the compostable cups?

There have been mixed opinions, to say the least. Some have taken to TikTok to voice their new frustrations with many other users agreeing in the comments that the design is poor and unappealing.

“No more taking aesthetic photos,” said one commenter. Another commenter who received this cup was confused when they picked up their cup, thinking Starbucks made someone else’s drink.

Reddit users seem to be split. While some explain that the cups are to comply with mandates and not all over, others believe they should be used all over as they already are in parts of Europe.

“If it means dramatically reducing the amount of plastic cups, we should all be rejoicing,” said one Reddit user.

“When I go to Starbucks I am paying for an experience. That experience includes a cup I can reuse and doesn’t compost when I’m using it. I am not rejoicing,” said another.

While we love to take aesthetic photos, it’s important to think about the planet and the impact single-use plastics can pose. If you are not a fan of the compostable cups, consider bringing your own reusable cup as an alternative.

What’s the best way to make oatmeal for breakfast?

I find making a quick half cup of oats on the stove in the morning is the way to go. It’s super simple and only takes a few minutes to Cook. I pack mine with peanut butter, chia seeds, protein powder, nuts, cinnamon or fruit. Having insulin resistance myself, oatmeal easily keeps me full throughout the morning and even into the afternoon—a difficult task. When I know I’ll be waking up extra early, I prepare overnight oats with all the fixins’ in advance.

While Willie didn’t share a preference for how he likes his oatmeal, we think it’s important to mention that there are plenty of ways to make oatmeal taste good. Follow one of our oatmeal recipes, like brown sugar banana oatmeal or spiced apple oatmeal. Stir in fruit or toasted coconut. However you eat oatmeal, you’ll have the energy to go on a world tour after breakfast. Just don’t expect to sing like Willie!

With four new items and four returning items, there’s a lot to love this year.

• Dunkalatte: This returning fan favorite latte features rich espresso mixed with Dunkin’s own coffee milk made from Dunkin’s premium coffee extract. Creamy and full of flavor, you’ll likely find yourself stopping at Dunkin’ once a day just to experience it over and over again.
• Pistachio Latte: Another returning flavor, this Dunkin’ coffee is mixed with pistachio swirl and cream. We’re interested to see how it shakes up against Starbucks’ pistachio latte. Either way, I’ll be stopping in for a sip of my own when the time comes.
• Cotton Candy Specialty Doughnut: This pink frosted doughnut features bright blue sprinkles and a cotton candy filling to match.
• Blueberry Sprinkled Munchkins: Continuing the blue theme, these spring-inspired Munchkins feature the same bright blue sprinkles as the Cotton Candy Doughnut. Blueberry is a great fit for the season, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a dozen.
• Ham and Cheese Pretzel Sliders: A fresh face to the Dunkin’ food menu, these cute little sliders feature King’s Hawaiian Pretzel Buns, ham and cheese. I have a feeling these are going to be great for midday snacks or on-the-go lunches.

And, much like the Halloween Munchkin Bucket drop, Dunkin’ will have a new exclusive Spring Munchkins Bucket featuring the familiar blue colorful eggs and an adorable white bunny. If it’s anything like the previous deals, the bucket is likely to hold at least 50 Munchkins!

When do Dunkin’s spring drinks drop?

The first half of the menu is set to drop March 5, 2025 while the second half drops around April 2 at participating locations nationwide. While it may seem light years away, that just means you can brush up on your Dunkin’ knowledge in the meantime. I’ll be jumping for joy when I finally get a chance to drink the Dunkalatte again.

Not every meal is a royal fit though, particularly when it comes to other countries’ cuisine. According to an old BBC News report, Queen Elizabeth once asked for a traditional staple to be banned from her menu during a trip to Italy.

The local chefs working at the palace of the Italian president were told to put a kibosh on garlic, long noodles and any type of “messy” tomato sauce. Yes, that means delicious spaghetti. While it may seem like an odd choice to us, it’s a different world for royalty. One can’t be seen taking important meetings with a tomato sauce stain on her lovely outfit. It’s also difficult to eat long pastas silently.

This wasn’t an unusual practice for the Queen. She consistently banned shellfish, rare meat, foreign water and any food that was too spicy or too exotic. Queen Elizabeth wanted everything to go smoothly during her trips and had no room for gastrointestinal catastrophes. I wholeheartedly agree with her stance there.

None of this is to say the Queen didn’t have her favorite foods. She loved a bit of Dundee cake with her daily 5 p.m. break for a traditional cuppa. She also enjoyed a full English breakfast, including wholemeal toast, oatcakes and orange marmalade.

It’s easy to think, why try to fix something that’s not broken? But when it comes to business, one must always move forward so as not to get left behind. In a recent press release, Capri Sun says fans “have called for a larger serving size to enjoy even more of their favorite drink. In fact, between 2020 and 2023, a staggering 76% of suggestions received by the Capri Sun call center were about fans wanting a bigger product size.”

I get it. One pouch never seemed like enough when I was a kid, so going back for two or three Capri Suns was the norm. That’s what made it so fun, though. Arguing about the best flavor (clearly Pacific Cooler). Stabbing the straw into the hole, chugging it within seconds and blowing up the empty pouch with air afterward. Rolling the silver package flat to get every little drop of juice out. Ah, those were the days.

As sad as we are to watch a speckle of our childhoods disappear into the ether once more, let’s be honest. We’ll still drink them.

The current stance is no, so that’s a relief. Every kid should be allowed the opportunity to experience the Capri Sun as it was meant to experienced. You know, like missing the hole completely or accidentally stabbing the straw through the back of the pouch just for it to start leaking. We love you, Capri Sun pouches. Don’t ever change.

Speaking of sweet, we got word that Skyline Chili ice cream manifested itself into existence with the help of Graeter’s, another Cincinnati icon. This duo teamed up to create what might be the ultimate unexpected ice cream event (right next to onion ice cream). I was first in line for a scoop.

What’s in Skyline Chili ice cream?

The ingredient list begins with a base of cream, milk and cane sugar, as expected. But then we enter into uncharted territory. Next on the list is oyster crackers. I mean, you can’t have chili without them, right? Then we have coconut oil, skim milk, eggs and spices, most likely cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Last are carob bean gum and guar gum as the ice cream’s thickening agents.

Is the chili ice cream good?

My ice cream was delivered in a Graeter’s stamped box. Gingerly slicing the tape, I opened the flaps and unleashed the freezing pint from its dry ice prison. I cut the plastic, flipped off the top and surveyed the subtle brown splendor.

This ice cream demands to be eaten. The aroma of cinnamon was unavoidable in the best way possible. I scooped up a spoonful, and in seconds, I experienced true bliss. There’s a reason Graeter’s has some of the best ice cream ever.

Each spice was loud but balanced. I could immediately taste the cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg. Think pumpkin spice sans pumpkin. I dove back in for an oyster cracker and was pleasantly surprised. The cracker more than kept its shape and sturdiness. While it didn’t offer much taste, it did add to the overall texture.

So, was it good? Yes! No doubt you had hesitations. I did, too. Then again, I am a sucker for weird ice cream flavors. But this ice cream did more than delight me—it impressed me. I had to force myself to put it back in the freezer and not demolish it in one sitting. True willpower on my part.
