Expect a juicy grilled chicken filet topped with crispy brown sugar and black pepper bacon, Colby Jack cheese, lettuce and a savory, smoky barbecue sauce. The bun will be fluffy, toasted and buttery, so this truly is the sandwich of dreams.

When this sandwich was on the menu three years ago, it only came with the original breaded chicken filet. This time around, though, customers to order a spicy breaded chicken filet or grilled chicken filet! I’m an absolute sucker for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, so you know I’ll be sampling this bad boy with spicy chick. Thank you for blessing us, Chick-fil-A. When does the spring menu drop?

The Smokehouse BBQ Sandwich drops on March 17, 2025. To complete the spring menu, Chick-fil-A also has a new line of Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages. You can order Pineapple Dragonfruit mixed with regular lemonade, Frosted Lemonade, iced tea and Sunjoy (aka 50-50 ice tea and lemonade). What is the Frosty change?

Instead of releasing a single new flavor, customers will be able to concoct a unique Frosty with flavor swirls and fun mix-ins. Wendy’s is taking its Frosty in the direction of the McFlurry, and we can only hope they know how to keep the Frosty machines up and running. Frosty Swirls

The Frosty Swirl will let customers pick a base Frosty (chocolate or vanilla) and swirl it with one of three syrup options: strawberry, caramel or brownie batter. Your Frosty will also be topped with the syrup of your choice, so there will be plenty of flavor. I can’t wait to dip my fries into that Frosty masterpiece!

You might remember that Wendy’s experimented with flavor swirls last year. Its Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty was flavored with a pineapple swirl, instead of being a pineapple-flavored Frosty. It looks like that was a test run for this whole Frosty Swirl change.

Frosty Fusions are in the same realm—with a slight difference. You’ll be able to choose your base Frosty flavor, a syrup from the Swirls and additional mix-ins. Brownie batter syrup comes with Oreo cookie pieces, caramel syrup comes with toffee pieces and strawberry syrup comes with Strawberry Pop-Tart pieces. My cravings have already kicked into overdrive.

When do the new Frostys drop?

These creations are currently being tested in Ohio, and a nationwide drop will happen soon after. The Frosty Swirls are expected to debut on April 15, 2025, while the Frosty Fusions are expected on May 12, 2025. No word from Wendy’s on whether this is a permanent change to the menu or a limited-time offering like the other Frosty flavors.

While we’re still reeling over the return of Starbucks’ free refills, there’s been some different news hitting the coffee algorithm this week. It seems the chain has been trading its popular clear cold cups for opaque white compostable alternatives. The new cups are getting mixed reviews.

Why is this happening?

The switch is happening in a handful of stores in an effort to comply with local law mandates regarding commercial waste and pollution, according to USA Today. Starbucks even mentions the change on its website, stating, “In select markets, Starbucks provides more environmentally friendly compostable cups and lids.”

Deemed “commercially compostable cold cups,” these new white cups are fully opaque, much like the hot to-go cups. The difference is that these are made especially for cold drinks. Both the cup and the lid are completely white and made from a double-walled, fiber-based paper board with a bioplastic liner. Originally in 24 stores throughout California and Minnesota, they seem to be slowly spreading to more stores as time goes on.

Do people like the compostable cups?

There have been mixed opinions, to say the least. Some have taken to TikTok to voice their new frustrations with many other users agreeing in the comments that the design is poor and unappealing.

“No more taking aesthetic photos,” said one commenter. Another commenter who received this cup was confused when they picked up their cup, thinking Starbucks made someone else’s drink.

Reddit users seem to be split. While some explain that the cups are to comply with mandates and not all over, others believe they should be used all over as they already are in parts of Europe.

“If it means dramatically reducing the amount of plastic cups, we should all be rejoicing,” said one Reddit user.

“When I go to Starbucks I am paying for an experience. That experience includes a cup I can reuse and doesn’t compost when I’m using it. I am not rejoicing,” said another.

While we love to take aesthetic photos, it’s important to think about the planet and the impact single-use plastics can pose. If you are not a fan of the compostable cups, consider bringing your own reusable cup as an alternative.

I find making a quick half cup of oats on the stove in the morning is the way to go. It’s super simple and only takes a few minutes to Cook. I pack mine with peanut butter, chia seeds, protein powder, nuts, cinnamon or fruit. Having insulin resistance myself, oatmeal easily keeps me full throughout the morning and even into the afternoon—a difficult task. When I know I’ll be waking up extra early, I prepare overnight oats with all the fixins’ in advance.

While Willie didn’t share a preference for how he likes his oatmeal, we think it’s important to mention that there are plenty of ways to make oatmeal taste good. Follow one of our oatmeal recipes, like brown sugar banana oatmeal or spiced apple oatmeal. Stir in fruit or toasted coconut. However you eat oatmeal, you’ll have the energy to go on a world tour after breakfast. Just don’t expect to sing like Willie!

With four new items and four returning items, there’s a lot to love this year.

• Dunkalatte: This returning fan favorite latte features rich espresso mixed with Dunkin’s own coffee milk made from Dunkin’s premium coffee extract. Creamy and full of flavor, you’ll likely find yourself stopping at Dunkin’ once a day just to experience it over and over again.
• Pistachio Latte: Another returning flavor, this Dunkin’ coffee is mixed with pistachio swirl and cream. We’re interested to see how it shakes up against Starbucks’ pistachio latte. Either way, I’ll be stopping in for a sip of my own when the time comes.
• Cotton Candy Specialty Doughnut: This pink frosted doughnut features bright blue sprinkles and a cotton candy filling to match.
• Blueberry Sprinkled Munchkins: Continuing the blue theme, these spring-inspired Munchkins feature the same bright blue sprinkles as the Cotton Candy Doughnut. Blueberry is a great fit for the season, and I can’t wait to get my hands on a dozen.
• Ham and Cheese Pretzel Sliders: A fresh face to the Dunkin’ food menu, these cute little sliders feature King’s Hawaiian Pretzel Buns, ham and cheese. I have a feeling these are going to be great for midday snacks or on-the-go lunches.

If it’s anything like the previous deals, the bucket is likely to hold at least 50 Munchkins!

The first half of the menu is set to drop March 5, 2025 while the second half drops around April 2 at participating locations nationwide. While it may seem light years away, that just means you can brush up on your Dunkin’ knowledge in the meantime. I’ll be jumping for joy when I finally get a chance to drink the Dunkalatte again.

Not every meal is a royal fit though, particularly when it comes to other countries’ cuisine. According to an old BBC News report, Queen Elizabeth once asked for a traditional staple to be banned from her menu during a trip to Italy.

The local chefs working at the palace of the Italian president were told to put a kibosh on garlic, long noodles and any type of “messy” tomato sauce. Yes, that means delicious spaghetti. While it may seem like an odd choice to us, it’s a different world for royalty. One can’t be seen taking important meetings with a tomato sauce stain on her lovely outfit. It’s also difficult to eat long pastas silently.

This wasn’t an unusual practice for the Queen. She consistently banned shellfish, rare meat, foreign water and any food that was too spicy or too exotic. Queen Elizabeth wanted everything to go smoothly during her trips and had no room for gastrointestinal catastrophes. I wholeheartedly agree with her stance there.

None of this is to say the Queen didn’t have her favorite foods. She loved a bit of Dundee cake with her daily 5 p.m. break for a traditional cuppa. She also enjoyed a full English breakfast, including wholemeal toast, oatcakes and orange marmalade.

It’s easy to think, why try to fix something that’s not broken? But when it comes to business, one must always move forward so as not to get left behind. In a recent press release, Capri Sun says fans “have called for a larger serving size to enjoy even more of their favorite drink. In fact, between 2020 and 2023, a staggering 76% of suggestions received by the Capri Sun call center were about fans wanting a bigger product size.”

I get it. One pouch never seemed like enough when I was a kid, so going back for two or three Capri Suns was the norm. That’s what made it so fun, though. Arguing about the best flavor (clearly Pacific Cooler). Stabbing the straw into the hole, chugging it within seconds and blowing up the empty pouch with air afterward. Rolling the silver package flat to get every little drop of juice out. Ah, those were the days.

As sad as we are to watch a speckle of our childhoods disappear into the ether once more, let’s be honest. We’ll still drink them.

The current stance is no, so that’s a relief. Every kid should be allowed the opportunity to experience the Capri Sun as it was meant to experienced. You know, like missing the hole completely or accidentally stabbing the straw through the back of the pouch just for it to start leaking. We love you, Capri Sun pouches. Don’t ever change.

Speaking of sweet, we got word that Skyline Chili ice cream manifested itself into existence with the help of Graeter’s, another Cincinnati icon. This duo teamed up to create what might be the ultimate unexpected ice cream event (right next to onion ice cream). I was first in line for a scoop.

What’s in Skyline Chili ice cream?

The ingredient list begins with a base of cream, milk and cane sugar, as expected. But then we enter into uncharted territory. Next on the list is oyster crackers. I mean, you can’t have chili without them, right? Then we have coconut oil, skim milk, eggs and spices, most likely cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Last are carob bean gum and guar gum as the ice cream’s thickening agents.

Is the chili ice cream good?

My ice cream was delivered in a Graeter’s stamped box. Gingerly slicing the tape, I opened the flaps and unleashed the freezing pint from its dry ice prison. I cut the plastic, flipped off the top and surveyed the subtle brown splendor.

This ice cream demands to be eaten. The aroma of cinnamon was unavoidable in the best way possible. I scooped up a spoonful, and in seconds, I experienced true bliss. There’s a reason Graeter’s has some of the best ice cream ever.

Each spice was loud but balanced. I could immediately taste the cinnamon, cloves, allspice and nutmeg. Think pumpkin spice sans pumpkin. I dove back in for an oyster cracker and was pleasantly surprised. The cracker more than kept its shape and sturdiness. While it didn’t offer much taste, it did add to the overall texture.

So, was it good? Yes! No doubt you had hesitations. I did, too. Then again, I am a sucker for weird ice cream flavors. But this ice cream did more than delight me—it impressed me. I had to force myself to put it back in the freezer and not demolish it in one sitting. True willpower on my part.

Dunkin’ brought back two Valentine’s Day doughnuts that we can’t wait to sink our teeth into.

• Cupid’s Choice Doughnut: You’ll probably want to buy an entire dozen of ’em. This Cupid doughnut is filled with delectable Bavarian Kreme and topped with Dunkin’s delicious strawberry-flavored icing and festive pink, red and white sprinkles. No one does Bavarian Kreme quite like Dunkin’, and I know I’ll grab some for myself and my favorite people.
• Brownie Batter Doughnut: Who doesn’t love a brownie batter sweet treat? This lovable little doughnut is jam-packed with a chocolaty brownie batter butter creme and adorned with rich chocolate icing and Valentine’s Day sprinkles. This doughnut has been an official favorite of mine since it first dropped. No doubt I’ll continue the brownie batter Valentine tradition!

You can also expect your favorite filled Dunkin’ doughnuts to be served in a lovely heart-shaped shell, including Boston Kreme and jelly doughnuts. Other regular doughnuts, like chocolate frosted and strawberry frosted, will get the festive heart sprinkle treatment.

If you’re a Starbs regular, you no doubt remember the Starbucks free refills from before the pandemic. Here’s some good news: That perk is back! Just purchase and enjoy your beverage in a Starbucks cafe to take advantage of this freebie.

When do Starbucks free refills return?

Starbucks dropped the good news this week and brought back its free refills for everyone on January 27.

Here’s how the free refills work: Head to a Starbucks cafe and order any beverage “for here.” That means a brewed coffee, a Frappuccino or a latte served in a mug, glass or a clean reusable cup you bring from home. Then, once you finish your drink, ask for a free refill of hot coffee, iced coffee, hot tea and iced tea. In other words, your first drink can be any beverage but the free refill will be hot or iced brewed coffee or tea.

What other perks are back at Starbucks?

While we’re over the moon about free refills making their grand re-entrance, Starbucks has even more beloved perks back in action. The condiment bar will be available once again at participating locations. Being able to adjust your own coffee is great for customers and a stress reliever for baristas. Everyone likes their coffee a bit different, and some would rather DIY than ask for modifications. Each bar will include creamer, milk and various sweeteners. If you don’t see your milk of choice available, Starbucks encourages you to ask your barista for help.

Starbucks also instituted a Code of Conduct for its cafes. Remember to be clean, kind and respectful to those around you. Let’s all bask in the glory of coffee together, shall we?

CosMc’s is all about hot takes on coffee, cold drinks and bite-sized snacks. Having been a barista for almost half of my working life, I knew I had to do a CosMc’s review! I took a trip out to the CosMc’s cosmos, and now I’m back with all the details.

What is CosMc’s?

Inspired by McDonald’s mascot CosMC from the ’80s, this coffee-based concept restaurant launched in December 2023. The idea was to create a restaurant with a smaller footprint to focus on specialty coffee drinks and quick bites. The menu is huge, though: You’ll find over 45 drinks and 18 snacks and treats, including McFlurries and ice cream sundaes.

The purple and gold spin-off store first opened in Bolingbrook, Illinois, with some fans flying in from as far as Europe to sample a taste.

Everything I Ordered at CosMc’s

Let’s start with the ordering experience. The CosMc’s in Bolingbrook is a drive-thru-only location with four drive-thru lanes, all equipped with digital menu screens and card readers. When I pulled into the first spot, a CosMc’s worker greeted me through the speaker. I mentioned that I had quite a large order, and he seemed eager to hear it!

After listing off every item, he asked how I would like to pay. Since I used a card, I was able to pay right at the card reader in front of me. I was then told to wait in my lane until the menu screen said my order was ready. After a few minutes, the screen told me to pull up, and I was handed my items at the last of three drive-up windows.

While the CosMc’s menu does include some items from the McDonald’s coffee menu, it’s also in its own world with tons of unique flavor combinations.

French Toast Galaxy Latte

The first drink to catch my eye was the French Toast Galaxy Latte. My first sip was subtle. Honestly, based on the big flavors from the McCafé, I was expecting much more cinnamon and sugar. Being a girl who doesn’t like her coffee too sweet, it hit just the right mark for me!

There wasn’t anything too galactic about it—the color was still a creamy brown all around. The cinnamon was present but not overwhelming, and at no point did I scrunch my nose from the sheer sweetness. On top of all that, it’s the same coffee you remember from McDonald’s. Would I order it again? Definitely. A solid 3/5.

Sea Salted Caramelactic Shaken Espresso

Shaken espressos have popped into the modern coffee culture recently, and I’m loving it. I’m a sucker for all things salted caramel, so I knew this was on my list to try. For how incredible the name was, I was expecting a whole ‘lotta caramel in my first sip. I’m a big fan of the McDonald’s caramel macchiato, and I thought the Caramelactic would be on par. It had a much softer caramel taste, with the salt coming in as an aftertaste rather than a flavor front-runner. Not quite bland, but didn’t pack a punch like I was wishing it would.

Compared to a Starbucks Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso, my favorite of the shaken bunch, the Caramelactic lacked depth. It felt a bit watered down, and the coffee didn’t feel as present. I’d give it a 2/5. I don’t know if I’d try this one again, but I’m willing to give the Pistachio Swirl a try next time.

S’mores Cold Brew

Of all the drinks on the CosMc’s menu, this was the one with which I immediately locked eyes and fell in love. There’s nothing in this world I love more than a s’mores-flavored treat, and I’m on an endless hunt to try every single one.

This was easily the most beautiful of the drinks. However, the S’Mores Cold Brew didn’t have the flavor profile I hoped for. This drink had an artificial aftertaste, and there weren’t enough toffee sprinkles for added texture. Overall, I wasn’t happy with the s’mores syrup either. While the drink was pretty, I didn’t find myself yearning for another sip.

Let’s be clear: I love cold brew. However, the s’mores drink couldn’t measure up to a Starbucks Cold Foam Cold Brew. My heart sadly gives it a 1/5.

Sour Cherry Energy Burst

Besides the coffee collection, CosMc’s also has an array of Galactic Boosts and Stellar Sips. These drinks mimic things like mixed lemonades and Starbucks Refreshers, but with a twist. Some come with popping boba, and you can add extras like energy, vitamin C and preworkout shots for a boost.

The Sour Cherry Energy Burst features a tart cherry slush layered over popping boba. While it looked gorgeous, it honestly tasted like a cold cup of medicine. The popping boba was a charming touch, and it made the drink semi-enjoyable. The energy is no joke, though—it definitely woke me up! This would probably best be enjoyed in the summer and not on a 1°F day in the heart of winter. I’ll give it a 2/5 and try again in a few months.

Sprite Moonsplash

The name was intriguing, the inclusions were bright and Sprite is one of my all-time favorite sodas. I had to give this one a shot, and it was the best of the bunch! The drink is a mix of Sprite, vanilla and citrus with a dried lemon wheel and dried blueberries on top. Sprite was the most forward flavor, with the vanilla adding a smooth finish. I could have chugged that thing in one go, but I held back. The inclusions made it pretty, too. 5/5, would absolutely order again!

Editor’s Tip: If you’re not into lemon and blueberries, don’t worry. You can add dried strawberries or dragonfruit instead. You can even switch the flavor shot from vanilla to cherry or mint.

Savory Hash Brown Bites

If you’re a diehard fan of McDonald’s hash browns like me, you’d probably expect these to be the same. However, think more like Dunkin’s version but smaller, individual hash browns. The Hash Brown Bites were about half the size of my palm but had great spice distribution (I tasted onion, garlic and just the right amount of salt). I found myself wanting more after I’d popped all four bites into my mouth. Not too crispy, not too soft—easily a 4/5. Next time, I might even get two orders.

Mixed Bag McPops

McPops are what I would describe as filled doughnut holes. There are three different types: cookie butter, hazelnut and apple cinnamon. You can either grab a three-piece of an individual flavor or a mixed bag with one of each. My consensus for all three was unanimous—positively delicious. The cookie butter reminded me of Trader Joe’s Speculoos cookie butter in the best way. The hazelnut was more of a Nutella flavor, and the apple cinnamon was like biting into a small apple pie. They were all soft and fluffy with plenty of flavor. 5/5 for me. Now, if only I could grab a whole bucket of ’em.

Strawberry and Cookie McFlurry

The McFlurry is one of the most iconic menu items at McDonald’s. If only the ice cream machines weren’t broken all the time!  CosMc’s has its own exclusive McFlurry flavor, the Strawberry and Cookie McFlurry. Was it delicious? Of course. It’s a fluffy mix of vanilla soft serve, dried strawberries and shortbread cookie crumbles. The strawberry gave it a sweet touch, while the crumbles gave it a dynamic texture. But really, how could you not love a McFlurry? Another 5/5!

Where is CosMc’s?

There are currently five locations up and running in the States. The first CosMc’s opened in Bolingbrook, Illinois (my location), followed by locations in San Antonio, Fort Worth and Dallas. There’s another location being built in Allen, Texas as we speak.

McDonald’s corporate explained that they plan to keep locations small but will continue to experiment with size until they find the perfect fit. If CosMc’s popularity continues, I expect to see more locations across the U.S.!

In her biography, Catherine, The Princess of Wales, royal author Robert Jobson mentions how Kate focuses on healthy snacks and loves to snack on olives. Makes sense—olives have loads of health and beauty benefits.

When it comes to breakfast, though, she starts her day with “slow-burn energy oats.” Kate prepares hers with milk or mixes them with yogurt. She also adds fruit, nuts, cinnamon and nut butter.

You may know slow-burn energy oats as rolled oats, and it’s possible they’re already part of your morning routine. You can make them into oatmeal or overnight oats to prepare for an on-the-go morning. They’re a fantastic source of fiber and vitamins. Add extra protein (like nut butter or yogurt) to keep you full longer and sustain your energy throughout the day.

If you find yourself struggling to get through a bowl of oatmeal, don’t worry. There’s more than one way to make oatmeal taste better. Take after Kate and mix in strawberries or blueberries. Add some natural sweetness with honey, maple syrup or brown sugar. You can even make savory oatmeal by mixing in bacon and adding a poached egg on top.

What is the Red Velvet Blizzard?

This fan-favorite dropped in 2014, and it checks all the dessert boxes. The Red Velvet Blizzard features a blend of rich red velvet cake pieces, sweet cream cheese icing and Dairy Queen’s vanilla soft serve. If you’ve ever had a Portillo’s Cake Shake, you already know what I’m talking about.

The bright pink ice cream mixed with the fluffy red cake pieces makes it such an ideal treat for Valentine’s Day, even if it’s freezing outside. Every season is ice cream season.

It’s similar to chocolate, but it still holds its own as a unique flavor. Plus, its eye-catching appearance has made it synonymous with all things love. No wonder we have nothing but heart eyes for the Red Velvet Blizzard.

When will DQ have it?

Some Dairy Queen locations may already have the Blizzard available, and the rest should see it on their menus by January 27. It will only be available for a limited time, so get your fill before it flutters away for good. Hopefully, we’ll lock eyes again next year, Red Velvet Cake!

Dollywood opened in 1986, but the original park on that site, Rebel Railroad, opened in 1961. She did exactly that by more than doubling the size of the amusement park, which now has more than 4,000 employees.

It’s her Crossroads Funnel Cakes! While the park has all kinds of famous foods to sample and savor, Dolly can’t live without the park’s sweet fried dough. “Even if I’m in my bus or The Dolly Suite, I say, ‘Run get me some funnel cakes. I can’t leave here without funnel cakes,'” Dolly said in an interview with Southern Living. As a funnel cake enthusiast myself, I can tell Dolly has exquisite taste.

We love a simple funnel cake, but Dollywood has more to offer. You can add toppings like Oreos, strawberries, apple pie filling and whipped cream. You can snag seasonal favorites like red velvet and pumpkin funnel cake, too. Snack Wraps

My absolute personal favorite! I remember when Snack Wraps first hit the menu back in 2006. Originally consisting of crispy chicken tenders, lettuce, cheese and ranch wrapped in a snack-sized flour tortilla, they were conjured to keep cravings away between meals. Soon after, the option to include grilled chicken and honey mustard became available.

To me, they were a total hit—I was stopping by for two wraps between classes and practices. My heart broke when they were discontinued in 2016 due to poor sales and operations. Lucky for us, though, Snack Wraps are making a comeback in 2025.

McPizza

Introduced in the 1980s, the McPizza was a phenomenon for the brand—a full family-sized pizza that was served to the table. It later scaled down to personal-sized pizzas. While they expanded to over 500 locations, the company soon found it was completely out of sync with its day-to-day operations. Each pizza took upwards of 16 minutes to cook. McPizzas were discontinued by 2000 except for a single location in Orlando, Florida (which still serves them to this day).

Chicken Fajitas

Didn’t expect this one, did you? McDonald’s added Chicken Fajitas to its menu in the early 1990s. Made with a simple mix of grilled chicken, peppers, onions, tomatoes and cheese, the fajitas were not a great seller. A former employee on Reddit remembers no one buying them, so the staff had them every day for lunch. They were discontinued shortly after. That doesn’t make me want them any less!

Mighty Wings

These bad boys were first introduced in 1990. The bone-in chicken wings were juicy and coated in a bold spiced breading. However, they weren’t selling like McDonald’s expected, and the chain even dropped the price to sell more. Mighty Wings were discontinued in 2004 before making a small comeback between 2013 and 2014.

Here are more discontinued fast-food items we miss the most.

McSalad Shakers

While McDonald’s isn’t usually the place you think of for salads, the chain had its moments. The McSalad Shakers were introduced in 2000 with three portable options: Chef, Chicken Caesar and Garden. Each contained their respective ingredients in a container cup that was made for on-the-go. Sadly, sales didn’t reflect much popularity, and they were discontinued in 2003.

McDLT

Also known as the McDeluxe, the McDLT was a new innovation for 1985. Served in a styrofoam container that split up the hot burger patties from the crisp, cold veggies, the McDLT was meant to keep the delicious factor at a 10 until it was time to eat. However, the item was discontinued in 1998 due to the wastefulness of the styrofoam packaging.

Onion Nuggets

First introduced in 1975, the Onion Nuggets were made to appeal to vegetarians. They were a mix of onion rings and McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets as we know them today. However, customers weren’t interested in the new form, and sales lagged. They were officially dropped from the menu in 1984, and we haven’t seen them since.

McLobster

Like the McRib, this seasonal sandwich had an enthusiastic following. Introduced in 1993 in New England, it consisted of a lobster roll served in a hot dog bun with lobster sauce and shredded lettuce. However, due to cost and the inability to turn a high profit, the item was discontinued. From time to time, the McLobseter still returns to certain New England locations.

Big N’ Tasty

Created to compete with Burger King’s Whopper, the Big N’ Tasty made its debut in 1997. The sandwich was made up of a seasoned quarter-pound beef patty, ketchup, mayo, onions, dill pickles, lettuce and a tomato slice on a sesame seed bun. It was a poster child of the Dollar Menu for a while before being discontinued in 2011.

Cinnamon Melts

Offered as a part of the McDonald’s breakfast menu, Cinnamelts were introduced in 2007. These miniature pieces of dough mirrored the taste of cinnamon rolls but looked more like monkey bread. They were decked out in cinnamon, sugar and cream cheese icing. While they were a fan favorite and stayed around for a decade, Cinnamelts were slowly phased out due to high production costs. The Cinnamelts were officially discontinued in 2017.

In 2024, KFC removed some things from its menu, including the Nashville hot sauce. Now that sauce is back, and it’s the star of a brand-new Nashville Hot Loaded Fries Bowl. KFC also snuck a second brand-new bowl onto the menu: Korean BBQ Loaded Fries Bowl. Let’s talk about all the juicy details.

You know about the KFC Famous Bowl, which has mashed potatoes and gravy topped with corn, cheese and chicken nuggets. The loaded fries bowls are similar but with a bed of fries instead of mashed potatoes and way more toppings.

• Nashville Hot Loaded Fries Bowl: People were not happy when KFC discontinued its Nashville hot sauce. The sauce was a sensation, and loyal Kentucky Fried fans couldn’t get enough. The Nashville Hot Loaded Fries Bowl is like a Nashville hot chicken sandwich in a bowl. It combines coleslaw, pickles and chicken nuggets on top of a bed of golden, crispy fries. The whole bowl is drizzled with Nashville hot sauce.
• Korean BBQ Loaded Fries Bowl: Much like its sister bowl, this one has coleslaw, pickles and Original Recipe nuggets on top of hot and crispy fries. The whole thing is topped with Korean BBQ, a sauce that’s equal parts sweet and savory. This isn’t the flavor I saw coming, but it’s definitely on my list of must-haves.

You can order the Nashville Hot Loaded Fries at any participating KFC, but the Korean BBQ Loaded Fries are a digital exclusive. That means you have to order on KFC.com or the KFC app.

Heads up, KFC is also featuring a Nashville Hot Mac & Cheese Bowl, Nashville Hot Famous Bowl and a Korean BBQ Mac & Cheese Bowl, which is also a digital exclusive.

How long will they be available?

The bowls all launched on December 6 and will be available “for a limited time,” according to KFC. It’s hard to say what that means, so pay the Colonel a visit ASAP if you want that Nashville hot sauce!

KFC isn’t the only chain doing loaded fries in 2025. Taco Bell also plans to drop Steak Garlic Nacho Fries in the coming months.

Crispy, golden and bursting with seasoning, they’re the perfect match for CFA’s one-of-a-kind chicken sandwiches. However, recent news about a change to the Chick-fil-A waffle fries recipe has caused an uproar among customers.

What’s happening at Chick-fil-A?

The popular fast-food restaurant explained that it made some changes to the waffle fries recipe. To keep the fries crispier longer, CFA started using a new coating that includes pea starch.

There’s been a mixed bag of reactions to the new recipe. A handful of users on Reddit found the change to be positive and enjoy the newfound crispy outside. Other Reddit users found the new fries dry and stale, with a lack of flavor.

On a recent Chick-fil-A Instagram post, some users commented that the new recipe deters customers with a pea protein allergy.

“My son had waffle fries on Friday and had a terrible stomachache the rest of the day. We couldn’t figure out why until my husband saw an article about the change. My son is allergic to peas. You cannot change a recipe and add an allergen without posting signs in your restaurant. I’m so upset and disappointed,” said one user. Several others had similar comments, saying they experienced unexplained sicknesses and issues due to the change.

Similar to what happened with New Coke in the ’80s, many Chick-fil-A customers hope that enough attention will encourage the chain to bring the old recipe back. Only time will tell!

Many Thin Mint-flavored things have appeared in recent years, and now another new treat may be on the way. News of a Thin Mint Frosty from Wendy’s recently leaked, and we’re here to tell everything we know.

Who leaked the news?

We first heard word from @teamsupernovafb and @snackolator on Instagram, who posted an internal graphic and a mock-up, respectively. While we don’t know for sure what that Frosty may consist of, speculations are being made. Right now, the frontrunner idea is a chocolate or vanilla Frosty base mixed with a Thin Mint swirl. Personally, I think a fully mint chocolate Frosty with a chocolate syrup swirl would be delicious.

If you love a Thin Mint, you know they’re even better after you put them in the freezer. That’s what my dad always did, and that’s what I still do to this day. That’s why this Frosty may be the most intuitive flavor Wendy’s has dropped in a long time. Well, alongside the Salted Caramel Frosty, which still has my heart.

Since 2018, Nacho Fries have come back multiple times due to popular demand. We’ve even seen different renditions, with the Bell testing loaded Nacho Fries in Detroit in 2020. That menu item must have been a hit, because loaded Nacho Fries will be on the menu in 2025!

What’s on the loaded Nacho Fries?

Steak Garlic Nacho Fries have everything you could possibly crave. They’re topped with a flavorful combination of steak, bold Mexican spices, freshly prepared pico de gallo, shredded cheddar cheese, nacho cheese and a brand-new creamy garlic ranch sauce made with garlic and jalapeno peppers. Take all these incredible fixins and place them atop a bed of crispy, golden spice-dusted fries, and you’ve got the greatest fast-food creation so far this year. My stomach growled with hunger as I read everything on the list—heart eyes just for you, Taco Bell!

We love Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries passionately, so we’re excited about this new piled-high version. On top of that, this is only one of the items that Taco Bell plans to drop in 2025. We can also expect Baja Dream Freezes, an indulgent dirty soda-inspired take on the Baja Blast we know and love.

How long will they be available?

Garlic Steak Nacho Fries drop nationwide on January 16, 2025, for $4.99 each. Regular Nacho Fries cost $2.39 per order, so the loaded version sounds like a solid deal. It’s likely they’ll only be around for a limited time, but we hope to see them on the menu for a good long while. You know I’ll try them the day they drop—see you there!

If you’re a fan of Arnold Palmers (aka a 50-50 blend of lemonade and iced tea), you’re bound to be a fan of Sprite + Tea. I’m going on record to say this will be the soda sensation of 2025, even more popular than Shirley Temple 7Up was in 2024.

When will the new Sprite drop?

Sprite + Tea is a limited edition drop. It will start poppin’ onto shelves on May 19, 2025 and stay through mid-October, according to @sodaseekers on Instagram. That’s five full months of Sprite + Tea goodness to get us through the hot and humid weather. I know I’ll be pouring a glass over ice and drinking it poolside!

The chain also plays with fun, seasonal flavor combos for its Blizzards. Some appear year after year, like the Peppermint Hot Cocoa Blizzard. Others simply vanish. Fortunately, Dairy Queen knows when a flavor is in dire need of a comeback. That’s why it’s bringing back its S’More’s Blizzard.

What is the S’Mores Blizzard?

When this Blizzard officially debuted in 2013, I was instantly hooked. Full of chocolate chunks, crunchy graham cracker bits and fluffy marshmallow mixed in a sweet whirlwind of vanilla soft serve, nothing else comes close for me (and I’ve tried quite a lot). The info was leaked early by one of our favorite Instagram snack influencers, @snackolator.

Dairy Queen has always been my soft serve go-to, which makes sense since it started in my home state back in 1940. There’s one so close to my childhood home, I used to walk there in the summer with friends. Needless to say, I’ve had my fair share of Blizzards over the years. S’mores still holds up as my absolute hot weather fave.

How long will it be available?

The S’mores Blizzard is set to arrive in April 2025 as part of the DQ Summer Blizzard Menu. It’s likely to stick around all summer long, so make sure to take frequent trips to get your full S’mores fill. I know I will!

But rumors have begun to swirl, hinting at a major change.

What are the rumors?

Instagram user @costcodeals (and other sources) say Costco will replace all of its Pepsi-related products with Coca-Cola ones. Costco CEO Ron Vachris confirmed this at the company’s annual shareholders meeting on January 23, according to CNN. “We will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola,” he said.

This is quite the curveball for those who’ve weighed in on the Coke vs. Pepsi debate. However, it turns out that this conversation at Costco isn’t new. Some might remember a time when Coke was Costco’s go-to brand. Before 2013, Costco exclusively sold Coke products in the food court, then switched to Pepsi to help keep costs low (and the hot dog combo so cheap). Coke loyalists were understandably upset by the change.

I’m split on the matter—Wild Cherry Pepsi is one of my all-time favorite drinks, but sometimes nothing hits better than a cold Coke on a hot day.

When will the change happen?

We expect Costco to slowly roll out Coke products to stores nationwide in early 2025. The original switch from Coke to Pepsi took a few years to complete across hundreds of stores nationwide, and the switch back to Coke will likely take about the same amount of time. I hope my Costco store is switched first—fingers crossed!
